I think this is a horrible trend in society today, that personal accounts/experience is more trustworthy than science.

   

Which science has shown over and over again that they are not. To the point of rape victims themselves identifying the wrong man.

This needs to be appealed.

   

Science is bullshit anyways.

Absolutely!! Even in other cases. I remember a buddy and I were the "victims" of an attempted 6-2 assault. After we'd beaten the crap out of 3 of 'em, the other 3 booked it out of there. But if I had been called the next day, or even later that evening to identify any of them, I would'a been hard pressed to make a positive ID on all but one of them. And that's only cuz I was already familiar with the one I could have identified.

Sadly, this kind of egotistical posturing is rather common with prosecutors. Even when innocent people are factually cleared of crimes it seems the prosecutors double-down and insist the innocent person is guilty because the prosecutor's precious ego can be hurt if someone says they're wrong.
