Can we get the rest of the country please ?

   

Agreed, the rest of the country needs to get behind them on this.

   

This should start right when we let people into this country. We should not be allowing people to enter the country wearing a niqab - they should have to identify themselves. (Once in, let em wear what they want except as needed for identification). And no getting to do it in some private room - just out in the open along with everybody else.

Same with people leaving - how can security allow people to pass when they can't see their faces? Why are airlines allowing people to fly with their faces covered? Can I get on a plane wearing a hockey mask?

But where identification or security aren't the concerns, let people wear what they want. We don't need the govt enforcing dress codes more than they already do.

I worked in a bank and one person came in wearing his full-face motorcycle helmet.
I've been through 13-14 armed robberies and you get a bit skittish when someone comes in with their face covered.
I would imagine we would have had the same reaction with someone wearing a niqab.

He was politely told by the manager to NEVER do that again.

   

Once, I with my friend decided to wear gas masks, come to the shop and buy some products, that was funny and everyone in the shop knew that it was a joke

On a personal note I walked into my bank here in Chicago wearing a pair of sunglasses and was told by the security guard at the door to remove them before proceeding.

   

Meh, no big deal. Now if the headline read "Quebec will require bare ass for service" that would be a much more interesting discussion.

   

Absolutely a good decision. Religious rights are not being violated it is simply a requirement that you can see of the people you are
dealing with for identification.
