The unstated inference is that "THE ENEMY" is not any longer AL Qeada or The Taliban, it is the Afghani people. There wasn't even supposed to ne an enemy for Canada. There was supposed to be rebuilding some infrastructure. How far will we debase ourselves before we give up?

And when will the Canadian people realize that they are being lied to from the media and our government... still claiming that our boys are fighting "Taliban" and "Al Queda"... when in fact it is the Afghani people.
How many Canadian's and innocent Afghani people will die?
Wars should only be fought when a just or moral cause dictates such. This war, unfortunately lacks both and was predicated through an illegal and immoral invasion and occupation by the Americans.
When will our nation wake up and realize this action defies logic and common sense?

No Kidding!!! Talk to someone in the military that has been in Afghanistan. People against what are troops are doing have NO idea about anything! Very Sad.

Thats real good concidering that a big group of the fighters in Afganistan are forgein fighters. Wheres your proof that we are fighting the afgani people not the Taliban or Al Queda.

Actually, the truth of the matter is the fact that the majority of the Afghan people that are picking up arms to resist the occupation are Pashtuns (Afghanistans ethnic majority). They are know for their warrior spirit and love for independance. The Taliban is an offshoot of the Pahtuns... and there will be no peace and stability without the cooperation of these people. What the West calls Taliban is a growing coalition of Pahstuns, Mujahidin (former "freedom fighters" during the Soviet era) as well as national resistance forces led by the former prime minister - Gulbadin Hekmatyar (whom the CIA has been attempting to assasinate).
Bottom line, our troops are waging war on the the Afghan people... not a rag-tag group of "terrorists" and "insurgents"... people who are resisting a foreign occupation that wants independance and freedom.
