Hmmm. The name 'Shep' comes to mind when I think of a little story I heard years ago. A Missionary was given the task of bringing education, teaching English, and bible study to a small African tribe. All went well for a few years. One day the Chief of the tribe sent for the Missionary. The Chief was very, very angry. So angry in fact that he wanted the Missionaries head on a pole!
Seems that a 'white' baby had been born to one of the young women of the tribe. Now the Chief was no dummy. I mean, the Missionary was the only white guy in the neighborhood, and the Chief made it quite clear to the Missionary what his fate would be for such a transgression. Of course the Missionary was really sweating and extremely nervous. No amount of denials could sway the Chief. The Chief would have none of it. Justice would be swift! As the Chief and his guards led the Missionary away to his fate, the Missionaries gaze fell upon the tribes flock of sheep. He noticed that all the sheep were white, except one. It was black.
The missionary thought " Ha, Genetics! Maybe I can explain it to the Chief that way". " Look at all your sheep Chief. ALL are white except one. It is black,... and it is scientifically possib..." " QUIET", said the Chief in a loud voice, holding up his hand in a threatening manner. The Chief folded his hands behind his back and did indeed look out over his flock of sheep, studying them for a few verrry long minutes. Finally he turned back towards the Missionary and said in almost a whisper, " OK. You no tell, I no tell"!
