This is silly. In case anybody didn't notice, Sikhs are on our side.

When we strip the pipers of their little daggers in their socks then we can strip baptised Sikhs of their kirpans.

What would happen if a Scott were to try and enter with his little dagger?

Well, in retrospect, I reckon a kilt wearer would be about as unwelcome in the Quebec 'National' Assembley as a Sikh. And I'm not on an anti-Quebecois war here. But really...

You guys show your arse on this stuff.

Who is this Scott guy you keep talking about?

No Eyebrock, kilt wearer are quite loved in Québec and I think they would be more than welcome in Quebec's 'National' Assembly.

...and did I hear correctly, they all have little daggers?
I thought that was a popular misconception. 8O

The Sgian-dubh is part of traditional highland dress tucked into the top of the kilt hose.

Was whooping it up one night along the Gande Alle in QC and what do I see, a Franco kilt wearer near pissing himself over having an anglo kilt wearer companion. We hoisted a few after that!

Love them kilt wearing Francos!

Hey Kenmore, maybe you'd be less of a fid in tartan...

Wow, I never knew the Jock-git skirt wearing fad spread to New France....

Oh I'm just being belligerent for the response! I like that the Scots culture is appreciated in Quebec. HBC and all that. Good stuff.

Sanity breaks out. For how long tho.

Do devout Sikhs fly? They're always heading back to India to pick up brides, etc. What do they do about their kirpans then? And does airport security ever check their turbans, or only breats protheses of 80 yr old women?

How would one check a turban? It's not like it just comes off, it's wrapped into their hair, which they cannot cut.

True ZIP,
but it is you Leatherman Multi-Tool is a tool, a dagger isn't designed to fix things, it designed to kill people.

Except for when it's not designed to kill people but a part of your religious dress code which you are bound to wear after your baptism. Sikhism preaches non-violence, so to say that a kirpan is a murder weapon is grossly ignorant of Sikh teachings. It could be used that way, but that is not its intended purpose.

Then that does present a problem doesn't it? Sikhs seem to have so many religious virtues about them that it seems impossible to accommodate both them and the country they choose to live in. Somebody's going to have to give way. Guess who will...

Christianity preaches non-violence. Islam preaches non-violence. Nobody really does the "INTENDED" purpose but oh well. It could just be the moral character of the person. Religion is not an excuse. The kirpan has been used in violence before. Just because it isn't commonplace doesn't mean it can't or will happen. Besides, somebody going on a shooting spree in the Quebec legislature before kind of gives one a sense of overprotective security. Those Sikhs knew it, they just didn't care and wanted everybody else to give way to their religious rules.

This is Canada, not India. Respect our rules, not your religion.
