'Some fatalities' reported after Amtrak train derails onto h
But the conspiracy nuts.......you're taking away their reason to froth.

Didn't the last time this happened the engineer ran home and shot himself? Or was that a ferry driver in NYC? Seem to recall one of them doing that because they were high as a kite on crack while operating.
In this case I'm inclined to think that it was a new line and the engineer mistakenly thought the speed limit for the whole line was ~80mph...plus he was probably under a lot of pressure to
make good time.
Same thing happened with the Titanic.
Trains have speeds posted just like roads. Or they do here wouldn’t think it was too different down there.

Trains have speeds posted just like roads.
True enough.
I'm tempted to think the driver fell asleep.

The engineer fell asleep or was on Facebook.
Derailed Amtrak train was travelling 80 km/h over speed limit: NTSB
Well on a positive note the fatalities have been downgraded to 3 rather than 6

Makes you wonder how the hell they came up with the other three fatalities in the first place.
So...... anybody important on that train?
Thanos Thanos:

Yeah, just like in the movies: dead men tell no tales.

Olympia
Nothing is accidental.

That's what I was wondering too.
Who was responsible? The United States Congress, of course, in continually refusing to vote the necessary funding to maintain infrastructure. Almost every other country, from Europe, to Canada, to Russia and India, have some form of positive train control to prevent this sort of thing. The US was late to the table and is still implementing it. This line did not have it.
I've ridden bullet trains in Japan and Taiwan both, which move a hell of a lot faster. Never had a worry about safety or engineering.

Yeah, I'm sure there was somebody's father, mother, brother or sister or a friend or other loved one who was VERY important to them, you insensitive clod.
He'd have been the exception to that had he been on that train.
Hyack Hyack:
Yeah, I'm sure ...
.... this was an accident? or sabotage? or that the FBI/CIA/NSA/USSA have no idea who is responsible?
