Who cares. The only thing this guy ever did that I sort of liked was Speak White, which I liked not so much for anything he had to do with it, but moreso for the powerful delivery of the poem.

Otherwise he was an aggressive asshole with embellished crackpot ideas about history, and who spoke terrible French (it was literally painful to listen to). I don't know why people payed him any attention.

MacDonaill @ Sat Sep 26, 2009 9:18 am

Where's the CBC article about Nelly Arcan, the Quebec author who killed herself the night before last? She was a million times more talented and credible than this oaf!

One thing for sure, Claude Ryan could never have commented the same way Pierre Falardeau commented on him.

Some things are better left unsaid.

$1:
Never one to stay quiet, Falardeau once urged federalist-supporting anglophones to leave Quebec

Wow. Seems like a really nice fellow. I guess even the anglos that spoke french he had a problem with as well.

'Bye Asshole!

Proculation @ Mon Sep 28, 2009 7:55 pm

He was the voice behind the cancellation of the reenactment in Quebec City.
He should have died some months ago.

Bouboumaster @ Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:12 pm

Aaaaah, c'mon, the dude's dead. 'can say whatever you want when he's alieve, but don't bash a deam man, geez!

I've never agreed with his positions, but what's sure, it's that this man standed in his positions and fought for them.

PimpBrewski123 @ Tue Sep 29, 2009 3:46 pm

Sure BooBoo, the same way that your buddy Falardeau spoke about Ryan and others. He simply got too much attention from the QC media (SRC and especially TVA) for all he did was promote extremist views. He never really has been contested by journalists, same goes for the PQ, RRQ & Patrick Bourgeois, Société St-Jean-Baptiste and similar organisations. Oh what great media we have here in this province. (sarcasm)

Some things are better left unsaid.

Arctic_Menace @ Tue Sep 29, 2009 3:49 pm

Who cares? It's not like he contributed anything to Canada anyway.

He made the sovereignists look even worse and helped the federalists' cause.

If only you knew what you are talking about.
That would have made a lot of sens, but since you probably know fuck all of what media truly said, I only can assume that you're a dumbass. Racist dumbass.

You assume that I'm a souverainist because I respect the man for his fight? 'The hell?

For you knowledge, since you seem to know fuck all of what truly happen in Quebec, here's some facts:

1- Liberals AND some Pequists denonce what Falardeau said on Ryan. Don't put everyone in the same basket;

2- Media didn't promote the event, but never agreed with it either;

3- In case you live on another planet, you know that the majority of quebecker are federalist (and that includes me)

4- But you are one reason why we have difficulty to support you

5- The PQ is nowhere close of the RRQ in extremism lvl. PQ is somehow like the libs, _ a separatist agenda, while RRQ are extremists, who doesn't fear use violence and threat. But eh, like every place on the planet, we have our extremists too.

6- If you don't know what you are talking about, just shut up.

PimpBrewski123 @ Tue Sep 29, 2009 4:36 pm

Oh wow 'stie. :lol:

Calme un peu. This was never intended to say anything bad on anyone.

Only pointing out that the media seem to idolize him, but never contested him on any issues. His comments on Ryan were absurd. Promoted violence and the FLQ. His were not facts, but instead objection to anyone that oppose these extremist political views. Federalists may be the majority in this province, but always funny how the 10 or so ''Patriotes'' get most of the publicity, that pretty much shows the journalistic jokes in this province.

He has been contested in media for sure. TVA seems to roll with the PQ, but even them crticize him. And yep, his comments where totally absurds, and almost everyone in the province would agree with that.
Falardeau promoting violence? It wasn't his cup of thea. In fact, I remember him doing it one time: when federal government tried to do a remake of the "Bataille des Plaines d'Abraham". But Falardeau mostly express his ideas via the media: he was an artist (well, kind of), and while he was borderline extremist, he doesn't totally fall in the same category as Patrick Bourgeois.

For the "10 or so Patriotes", a lot of artist in Quebec are souverainists. However, the artist doesn't represent the people here.

Sorry if I have been rough, but it puts me fire somewhere when a dude talk trash about us (quebeckers) without fully know what the hell is going on. It's cool that you tone done your speak, and I will gladly continue to talk with you on that tone. :)
