And he walks on water and feeds the masses with a loaf of bread and a small fish.

Nope, Obama needed 6 loaves and 3 fishes to get his job done

ROTFL

Well he did have a bigger crowd to feed.

Better hope Lemmy doesn't go all "forum cop" on you.

You did, when you made a ridiculous exaggeration.

I apologize to Lemmy and the other Obama "fanboys", I forgot that nothing can be said about Saint Obama that might take away from his holiness.

More ridiculous leaps, eh? If you just noticed, today, that what I do here is shoot down partisan rhetoric with facts, you haven't been paying much attention over the past decade or so.

And the galactic exaggerations continue. Are you wasted? Vodka for lunch, 2Cdo? Acknowledging a person's accomplishments doesn't make one a "fanboy". It makes one objective. It makes one an adult.

Lemmy Lemmy:
Nobody said that though. You're exaggerating. Obama's record on job creation is, as shockedcanadian described it, "miraculous".

Is it professor?

Why don't you tell us about Labor Force Participation rate?

Isn't it true that the American unemployment rate measures only those participating in the workforce, those working or looking for work. Thus, in previous reports, much of the decline in the unemployment rate came because larger numbers of people had stopped looking for work.

In fact hasn't the LFPR went on a nosedive downwards during the Obama years.

Although apparently there has also been a tiny rise in LFPR in the last couple of months as the Obama reign comes to a close.

However according to the BLS, much of the job growth occurred in the service, health care, and private educate sectors. "manufacturing sector shed 16,000 jobs. Jobs growth in the construction sector also cooled in February."

Also, and I'm not sure about this one, but don't their employment stats include Part-time work, and isn't it true that there has been a move more to part-time or temp work during Obama's reign?

"A detail that takes a bit of the strength out of the report is that aggregate weekly hours declined 0.4% m/m in February, as the average hourly workweek declined to 34.4 compared with 34.6 in January. This means that more people got employed but on aggregate they worked less hours, which dampens the boost to overall income growth

You are far, far from objective and are definitely not the one to comment on adult behavior.

I remember a little melt-down where you ran off with your ball only to return to fling neg rep points at anyone who dared disagree with you followed by promptly turning off YOUR points when you were done flinging shit.

That being said, the mere idea of "impartial, adult" Lemmy, is a fucking joke.

Also before we start singing Hosanas to Obama it is true that things have been improving slightly as his second term comes to a close, but in January of last year "the number of Americans receiving food stamps remained 45% higher than when the president first took office, and the rate of home ownership had dropped by 3.2 percentage points, to the lowest point in nearly 20 years."

So Yeah. Thanks Obama.

Good. Then what do you have to say about the Nobel Committee that gave Obama a Peace Prize for his work as President based upon a nomination that was submitted prior to Obama being inaugurated as President?

They didn't give him the award for his work as President. This has been explained to you previously. They gave him the award for his commitment to end wars and to undo the damage his predecessor did in terms of western relations with middle-eastern countries. Was that still premature? Yes. Do I think he deserved the award at that point? No. Do I think he even deserves to have won the award now, today? No.

You're right, he only does it to people who he doesn't like. And it's also why I put the winking dude there.

This, while 5 million other jobs in the U.s remain unfilled! God Bless America. This is hw free market economics works. Keep intervention at a minimum, don't have covert agents of the state interfere with individual pursuits and employment booms!

ROTFL

If this were the case, both Trump and Sanders wouldn't exist.
The fact that they do proves there are a lot of people in the US who are deeply unhappy
about the current political situation.

Wages stagnant for over 20 years.
Race relations at an all time low.
Gitmo still open.
Foreign policy has been nothing but disaster after disaster.

Obama will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents of the U.S.

Oh, so now you say you didn't quit the site with an emotional meltdown,
while playing the game of

'I turn my rep points on, neg rep some people, and then turn my points off,
so I can't get neg repped back, so I can keep my precious 1000 rep points'.

You saying that didn't happen ?

Riiight

You are the reason many turned their rep points off,
you and your utterly childish behaviour.

Why Aren't More Americans Working?

Image

Gee if only we had an economics professor to explain that weird nosedive in the graph line around 2009. Preferably one who knows what labor force participation rate is.

I hear some have excuses for the radical decrease in people looking for work like aging baby boomers and such, but why is the nosedive so noticeable in America compared to other countries?

Image

And what's with the radical plummet starting around 2009 in America? What was so special about that year in the US? Why did the LFPR not bounce back in America when it went that low like say Sweden did?

Anyway I hear it rose a couple 10ths of a percentage point the last few months or something so thanks Obama.
