Getting killed may have been a good career move, because his terror strategy wasn't working. The Taliban were getting battered worse this year than last, and Taliban popularity was declining in the south. Now the Taliban can simultaneously praise Dadullah as a martyr for the cause, and the reason the cause is failing.

More like a "STD" once you are infected pardon the pun"you are fucked for life"
i'm really starting to think to continue to engage them is a total waste of time for all these reasons:
1)they have absolutely no allies whatsoever
2)they are becoming more powerless and it doesnt seem anyones prepared to supply them with any weapons of consequence
3)even the majority of muslims arent supporting them
4)they offer their adherents absolutely nothing whatsoever except death
5)they have no political power whatsoever
bottom line...i just dont think canadians are worth getting killed over for such an inconsequential country as afghanistan
Wow."we better leave.." that's a suprise.
They still have allies in Pakistan and Iran and can still cause trouble. Need I remind you of that wonderfull Arab saying, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"?
The Canadian forces are now in charge of training the Afghan army in a couple of provinces so we know the'll be well trained, but that still takes time. Untill their ready, we need to stay there.

ok...i couldve worded it much better...i care about the lives of canadians...i couldnt give a rats ass about afghanis....well if pakistan is in fact their ally it really sucks to be in the taliban...after all pakistan did allow the usa and their allies to set up base in their country...basically turning their backs on who bin laden considered to be their best friend
They don't officially recieve support from Pakistan but the border is very fluid and the Paki Gov has flip flopped quite a bit. They have offered to fix their border but they can't and we shouldn't trust them even if they could.
Untill the Afghan army/police are strong enough, if the Taliban think theirs a chance, they will try. Leaving now will be a signal that the west doesn't care and the power vacume will leave a bigger mess.

To those peoples in the huts and villages across the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required—not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich

If not us, then who?
We sat back and let the UN handle Africa, we threw millions down a toilet and were forced to sit on our hands while criminals slaughtered 500,000 to 1,000,000 in less than 100 days. That was after the same shit happened in Bosnia and is now happening in Darfur.
In my oppinion, this is the result of nations not acting on what they believe in.
good i hope we kill him too

Who, JFK??
I can just imagine the interview, after the one legged Jihad-Jumper got JDAM-ed.
Considering they can't bring in recruits from pakistan without them being pre-perforated..
selecting a new leader would be like drawing the short straw on the lifeboat.

The principal reason liberals are so quick to suppress liberty or take away freedoms is it has no value as they have never had to work for it and dismiss outright the efforts of those who have both past and present. If liberals understood that their freedom comes at the expenses of 10s of thousands of dead Canadians scattered around the globe then they probably wouldn't be so quick to dismiss freedom for 25 million Afghanis based on a double digit death count.
