Rain described Tahir-Sharif as a “great man” who is very civil and loves her children.

“He has been a very good influence to me and my children,” she said, adding he has never done anything to make her feel unsafe or concerned....

“Because I know him. I have lived with him and shared a home with him,” she said. “My heart is with him and it always will be, and my kids.”

Rain told court she converted to Islam because it is a “peaceful religion” and said she wears a hijab because it is “comfortable” and she wants to dress “appropriately.”

$1:
Under cross-examination, Rain admitted their relationship was dysfunctional and they hadn’t been getting along due to him trying to control her life. She also said his bags were packed because he had threatened to leave.
