Will it be riddled with all of the same issues of the Hellcat?

Possibly...Fox Auto also raved about the Hellcat.

Actually, I didn't know there were issues. But I imagine there are. There always seems to be some.

Oh and I see the article on the Demon didn't transfer. Try this:

http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/04/11/ ... beast.html

"The Demon makes the Hellcat look like a church mouse."

$1:
The wide-body Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is a barely street-legal drag racer with a V8 that can produce up to 840 HP and 770 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful American car ever. It’s also the quickest car in the world, with an NHRA certified 0-60 mph time of 2.3 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.65 seconds at 140 mph.

Dodge didn’t just turn up the boost on the Challenger SRT Hellcat’s 707 hp 6.2-liter supercharged engine to unleash its inner beast, it updated more than half of its parts and added a laundry list of production-first and high tech features to the Demon.

There’s a larger displacement 2.7-liter supercharger that runs at 14.5 psi boost; strengthened rods, pistons and valvetrain; twin dual-stage fuel pumps; and the largest hood scoop ever used on a muscle car: a 45.2 square inch intake Dodge calls the Air-Grabber that’s apparently still not huge enough, because there’s a second intake in the middle of the inside driver’s side headlight and a third near the wheel liner. At full throttle, the Demon can suck all of the air out of a single-car garage in less than two minutes...

Other than the strip where the hell can you safely drive this thing? Besides, if you do take it to the strip regularly you'd better check that the extended warranty to make sure drag racing is covered because, there's only so many passes built into each engine. 8O

I can remember the late 60's when the GTX came out with the 426 Hemi. Chrysler covered it under the warranty but, after one OEM engine replacement it was take a 440 or take a hike so, my guess is that this beast will have the same type of warranty.

No matter how fast, stylish, shiny, whatever, if the top doesn't come down, it's a piece of shit.

If it is like the Hellcat, it will be quite street friendly.

The Hellcat is a beast when you want a beast, and extremely tame when you are just puttering around town.

If you want to putter around town buy a prius otherwise you're wasting your money by buying what is essentially an expensive "superstock" class competition vehicle to accomplish that same task.

But for the record. This thing can't even run on NHRA tracks because it's considered "unsafe" for drag racing in it's present form due to it's capability for excessive speed. 8O

$1:
In fact, the SRT Demon is so fast at the strip that it's actually been banned by the National Hot Rod Association, the very sanctioning body that certified its record-setting performances. That's because the car is so quick as to require additional safety equipment to legally race at NHRA-governed facilities, including items like a roll cage and racing harness. That's equipment that owners will doubtlessly fit to squeeze this Demon into the sanctioning body's legal framework, but right off the showroom floor, this car is just "too damn fast" for the NHRA to sign off on, says Tim Kuniskis, head of Fiat Chrysler's NAFTA passenger cars.

Now don't get me wrong I know exactly why people would want to own this thing. When I was a young sailor I once owned a 65 Impala SS with a 409 that produced 400 HP. A vehicle that I drove the balls off up and down Douglas Street in Victoria. But, this thing simply put, is a game changer and if I was to happen on a major lottery win this beast would be sitting in my garage right beside my original 68 Shelby GT 500 convertible.

Used to own a 70 dodge challenger R/T. Went like stink, but only from gas station to gas station. Terrible factory paint job too.

R=UP

That's been one of my complaints with almost every car I've bought! Ford, GM, Chrysler - didn't matter. I had one recently that you could see the primer in the door wells, but on the B pillar there was 'orange peel' from the overspray that should have gone in the door!

After 100 years, you'd have thought Ford could paint a car Black. :|

That's just mean. I made hubby get rid of his golf clubs but that was after the dr told him to stop golfing or get the dam shoulder surgery. By the time he did the surgery his shoulder would dislocate reaching for the door wrong or picking something up
