"“When working shifts that fall between dusk and dawn you are not permitted to leave the store for any reason except to complete management approved garbage drops,”

Broke the rules ladies and you got taken for 160 bucks. Hope the cancer stick was worth it!

I mean yes the management had not fixed the latch to lock the window, but knowing that they still left the store alone, just prove more poor judgment in their part.

Why would both employees take a break at the same time???

They deserved to get fired.

Its no wonder some kids don't respect authority or take responsibility these days when their parents are breaking rules and when they get burnt doing it they whine "not my fault."

If you're not willing to own up and buck up and take the consequences of breaking a rule then don't break it. Actually DUH, don't break it in the first place maybe!

I'll be in that town on Monday, Maybe I'll drive thru for a coffe and ask if the window has been fixed yet....

To create an opportunity for a "hooded" man to rob them?

They only had one brain between them and they need it to smoke a butt.

Both employees deserve to be fired, yes, but Timmies deserved the robbery for not fixing the lock.

Hitler_Elvis Hitler_Elvis:
It's an issue of integrity. If the window lock had been repaired (as per store and franchise policy) no theft would or could have occurred. A court of law would reinstate the employees with costs.

Hopefully business will suffer (severely) for Timmies. Besides McDonalds has good coffee and locations, I will be buying me coffee there from now on.

If one of the shift workers was in the store, no theft would or could have occured.

It's people like you that totally fucked up the justic system in this country.

maybe they will boycot TIMS, cant see that, someone was watching them do this for a while, and took advantage, sucks to be them.

ASLplease @ Mon Sep 21, 2009 11:54 am

Lets imagine that they were inside at the time, Timmies has a policy that employee are not to interfere with a theif. So, in that sense, this issue should have nothing to do with the robbery, it is strictly an issue of smoke breaks.

Requiring employees to stay in the store during their breaks and their lunch time is illegal down here. Is this right that employers can tell you folks where you can take your breaks and your lunch time?
