He was ousted out, and asked to resign, it wasn't voluntary.

westmanguy @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 2:15 pm

I'm very very angry with the CPC over this.

ridenrain @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 2:38 pm

The question is, did the party know and approve of his blog? If Garth is an example, I doubt it.

Why? He said/blogged stupid things in a riding where he should have known better.

Good riddance. Just because a person says they are a Tory does not excuse this stuff.
Better we find out he's an idiot now than him actually getting a seat somewhere at a later date.

Another day... another apology...

EyeBrock @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 3:49 pm

Yea, well at least we say 'sorry'! Whatever you say about these gaffes, Stevey deals with them very quickly. Leadership mate.

Scape @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 3:52 pm

We are barley into week two and this is the 5th such incident. This reflects badly upon the leader regardless of the response.

EyeBrock @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 4:05 pm

Doesn't seem to be hurting them in the polls.

Scape @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 4:10 pm

Really? There is no poll that will be able to credibly track any response within the time frame allotted here. The only poll that will matter will be on the 14th.

dino_bobba_renno @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 4:24 pm

It's funny, you have a conservative MP's aide (not the MP himself) caught saying something dumb and people are calling for the MP's resignation. Then you have another MP who has to step down due to a comment that he made on a blog that most people probably wouldn't find offensive. Critical yes, dumb yes, but I wouldn't call it offensive. In both cases you have the Libs and the NDP screaming for their resignations.

Now compare that to a guy like Garth Turner who basically insulted the both the province of Alberta and Quebec all in one fail swoop and who writes some pretty inflamitory stuff in his blog on a daily basis. But thats ok of course.

EyeBrock @ Sun Sep 21, 2008 4:24 pm

Very true but it's not looking good for the Libs, despite mucho silliness from Tory candidates. Just shows to me the Libs are doomed.

They will form the next government nursey. You know that as well as we all do. The question now is minority or majority?

Since you believe that Canada is better off without the CPC, you're not exactly objective. I personally think canada is better without you too.

How would Canada be better off without people like me?

Wouldn't listen to tripe from the torys..They are against everything.. surprised Harper hasnt threatened to reverse every human rights gain since the Victorian age.
