No it isn't funny, but all one has to do is watch an episode of talking to Americans to understand what they know about Canada.

Um...I actually watched that, it doesn't seem like they are taking a stab at us. Actually it's the opposite. That is supposed to be an opponent saying that. Meaning they don't agree. The republican add is actually saying we don't have time for it and tht they have to handle it. That's how I took it.

I think "They’re not busy.” is pretty unambiguous Tricks, even if the Republican ad is primarily attacking the Democrats we're well and truly caught in the crossfire

Whats funny is that is exactly how Democrates think. Let someone else take care of the problem, no one is to blame but those who wish to put blame on those responsable.

What it comes down to is that people can take anything out of context and make it look bad. The add is portraying the Democrates as haveing that line of thought not Republicans.

Yes it is, but it's a republican that made the ad. I've yet to hear a democrat say that. I'm not going to get worked up about it though. We have it coming after what the liberals have said about Americans over the years.

And you missed it. They are trying to portray how democrats think, whether or not they actually do. The GOP doesn't think that. Get it?

The ohhh so stupid newbie should learn not to attack age, Tricks got it right and you are just showing your lack of ability to even have an open mind when someone young speaks.

Get real, why would the Republicans have even mentioned us if they didn't think it was a widely held belief down there that Canada is a freeloader.

Fact: Republican campaign makes ad that implies Canada is a freeloader, the Democrats had nothing to do with the making of the ad.

......and riden thought this story was funny.
Well the troops don't think so.

I also said it was a slow news day, at least for the Canadian media, who have plenty of news to discuss,( bills being stalled in parliament or the senate, Anti-crime bill being watered down, Liberal leader candidates maling huge and expensive promises, etc,) but they'd rather drag on puppy-gate and this little example of fresh anti-american crap.
This is a goldmine for the media: Republicans making fun of Canadians.
Would it have mattered if it was democrats?

They definately deserve an opinion but I would have thought the troops would already be to cynical to comment and too busy to be watching Tennessee election TV. I guess some CBC reporters had to badger then enought to get a comment.

Yep, you're right. After all, everyone knows two wrongs make a right...

pugachev @ Fri Oct 27, 2006 12:09 pm

watch the ad folks, nothing bad is said about Canada. Its just a hurmorous ad portraying Ford Jr. as weak on national security and moral issues.

Now, why would the Canadian government get angry over this knowing this ad is sarcastic? Or did they, like everyone else it seems, not even watch the damned thing?

Do you think they would be making fun of the dems for supposedly thinking that if they did?
