No you’re wrong about me. Much like the political party you skew towards, you distort other people’s positions to the extreme.

I don't do political parties anymore. It's difficult enough for me to even vote now without wanting to throw up at the choices offered. I leave the field of being an unapologetic flak for the parties promising paradise to the rest of you who are still childish enough to believe anything any one of them says.

$1:
Someone proposes some modest and reasonable limits on gun ownership and you feel obliged to misrepresent that as advocating for a total ban and criminalization if all gun ownership. Why do you feel the need to engage in such dishonesty?

Taking property away from someone who's never committed a crime and who will never commit a crime is the definition of totalitarian. Firearm owners are the only ones who are held up to a ridiculous "yeah, but what if..." method of law-making. This disgusting standard is the nadir of the concept of law-and-order, and the minds that think these things up should be ashamed of themselves for demonizing the innocent and for blatant fear-mongering aimed at the gullible and ill-informed.

Would be more helpful if he put that money towards anti gang and smuggling but going after small things give the illusion of caring. Our government is getting really good at illusion

That’s an exaggeration. There are limits on things that pose a risk to the public and the idea of contraband is neither new nor only found in totalitarian societies. It’s literally found in every society that’s ever existed. Should people be allowed to own tanks, attack helicopters and nuclear weapons, simply because most of them “never committed a crime and never will?!

. No they’re not. See: contraband. Go make some illegal street racing mods to your car and see what happens. Go import a banned invasive species and see what happens.

1) Your ignorance on:
- the different types of firearms out there
- the differences between single-shot and semi-automatic
- your lack of understanding that fully automatic is already illegal in Canada and no one at all is proposing it's legalization
- that "military style" doesn't make a semi-automatic into a fully automatic

is not the problem of the legal and legitimate gun owner, and their rights don't get suborned to your lack of knowledge about the issue.

2) Name one person here who's supported smuggling from the US. Do it now. I dare you. And, BTW, the government should do something about the smuggling that puts American handguns into the possession of gangsters in Toronto. The main problem with doing something is that the smuggling corridor goes through the Mohawk reserve along the Ontario/Quebec/US borders, which means the government isn't going to do shit about it because they don't want to risk another Oka-type of standoff with the Natives that would assuredly happen if the RCMP/SQ were sent in full-force to bust the ones doing the smuggling.

I suppose that eventually Canadian liberals can win the "contraband" argument simply by declaring all firearms illegal to possess by individual citizens. If it's banned and illegal it by default becomes contraband. It would be the chickenshit Orwellian newspeak way to get it done, but that should bother liberals too much, considering how often they've engaged in such things since Trudeau Sr in order to get their way.

Wrong. Let’s be clear: private gun ownership is a hobby, like stamp collecting or scuba diving, it doesn’t have any sacred or privileged place in society that somehow affords it special protections. . Government is therefore free to regulate it the same way they regulate cars, toaster ovens, breakfast cereal or anything else.

At the risk of repeating myself I DON’T BELIEVE WE NEED TO RESTRICT NEW TYPES OF GUNS IN CANADA. We don’t have a culture or history of mass shootings withe these kinds of weapons unlike the US and most gun crimes don’t involve these types of weapons because they’re already hard to come by in Canada. But IT DOESN’T MATTER because the feds have every right to regulate firearms as they see fit, there are no sacrosanct gun owner rights in Canada that supersede parliament.

So yes, in Canada the feds ignorance of firearms IS the problem of legal gun owners and the latter’s rights DO get suborned to the feds’ lack of knowledge on the issue. Full stop. That’s just the way it is.

. Huh? Who said anything about that? Straw-man much?

Yes they should do more about smugly. I don’t know where you get your claims about Mohawks though. AFAIK firearms Smuggling seems to mostly involve passenger vehicles at controlled crossings.

Bullshit on the highly trained professionals. Some of these so called highly trained yobs take over our gun club twice a month, It's like the wild west. Iv'e been range officer many times when they come to 'practice'.

List of infractions they regularly break.

1. Lack of trigger control.

2. Lack of muzzle control.

3. Lack of lane discipline.

4. Ignoring the 'cease fire' command.

Any one of those would get you kicked out of the club.

Pleas don't get me started on the Garda hooligans.

It wouldn’t surprise me for cops generally, but compared to your average beat cop, the ones on VIP protection are undoubtedly of a higher caliber (pun intended)

Handguns and assault style rifles are like pit bulls.
They're just guns, but a predominance of assholes own them.

Not the same model, but I had one of these when I turned 15 or 16.

Who didn't?
I remember one night the cops came by because a neighbour bitched we were using them. They went in the backyard and saw we were shooting up a Jehova Witness book hanging from a branch and laughed their heads off. Then they told the neighbours they were just pellet guns so don't call them again.
The OLD days.
