Moral of that story, don’t be at the back of the pack when you’re protesting on a public road and a cop is standing there.

Damn tree huggers

And in a related news story, the New York Rangers are trying to sign a local stay at home defenseman who has recently become available.

This isn't uncommon in New York, unfortunately. But my understanding is that it's illegal to ride bikes in New York City unless you're a courier.

Let's hope that level of civic participation against disruptive mobs is contagious. Damned smelly hippies.

Riden I believe the guy had short hair.

Civic participation like a citizens arrest on the officer who assaulted the individual riding the bike? I'd go for that!

Anybody else getting the "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" message when trying to view a video on Youtube?

The critical mass mob are just a bunch of assholes who enjoy pissing people off. They think their being clever, bold little revolutionaries when all their doing is reminding people how arogant and sanctamonious bike nazis can be.
They do them here in Vancouver and folks who are stuck in traffic behind them are definately not made sympathetic to their cause.

the cop is being investigated now by the police department, he had to hand in his gun and badge. i guess for being a douchebag.

In Regina,Sk, bicyclists have BOTH the rights of a pedestrian and a motor-vehicle making for a most maddening situation and it comes to no one's surprise when road rage of this nature occurs but in this case the cop lost it big time. And as always when cops get sued it always comes out of the pockets of tax-payers,now if it came out of the cop's bank account, salary and pension police brutality would finally come to an end.

Ever watch the video of these bike dickheads harrassing the old couple they blocked in traffic?

Some dumb fuck harasses the old lady by making his two little girls freak out and cry while yelling to the old lady, "look what yer doing to my kids" or something like that. Worst dad ever.

I was hopeing for some vigilantes to step up and beat the shit out of every chronic on a bike harassing the old people.

In most of the civilized world :P, cyclists must yield to pedestrians.
Obviously the officer was hurrying to the curb on official business and the cyclist tried to swerve around him instead of slowing down as was the correct thing to do. The cyclist was in the wrong.

I find cyclists annoying too but as it stands it's the cop getting his gun and badge yanked.Looking at the vid objectively I have to say the cop assaulted him.I'll review it again but doubt if that'll change anything. The rage is understandable, could you imagine if an ambulance had to clear a path through there?
