If the Canucks beat Calgary tonight then it'll be Flame/Sharks in the first round. Given the way Thornton and the rest played the last twenty games of the season, and how horribly inconsistent the Flames were practically all year long, I'm going to peg it as San Jose in five games, six maximum. Time for us in Calgary to enjoy once agin the long standing tradition of the early first-round exit. Sigh.

But it still beats being a Leafs fan. Or, in general, living in a place like Edmonton. Psst! Oilers fans! 1990 was a long time ago.

   

Nothing like losing your way into the playoffs. Somebody better remind the Flameouts you don't get a point for a loss in the playoffs.

I would simply say that if someone is trash talking the Flames, then they are poor sports too. I have to admit that the first thing that leapt into my mind when I saw you and Will gloating about the Oil missing the playoffs this week was to say something nasty, but that wouldn't have been sportsmanlike. So instead, I simply said that you should be careful because karma can be a rel bitch sometimes (at least in my experience).

I was having FUN, especially since my BEST FRIEND is an Oilers fan. And she took it the way it was meant.

   

I feel most sorry for the Edmonton cops when it comes to the Oilers not making the playoffs FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW! Their more overweight members sure could have used the free workout provided by the mass arrests of the Oiler-jersey wearing drunken rioters on Whyte Ave. Nice way to celebrate a win, Edmonton. Stay classy, Oilers people, stay classy.

I might be wrong but I think that the original shit got started by some delusional Oilers fans, whose team DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR, acting like they just won the Stanley Cup. The Flame-outs probably won't go far, going by the precedent of their half-hearted and wildly inconsistent regular season, but at least they did well enough to at least get the chance to prove critics like me wrong. Which hopefully they will do, if for nothing more than the pure spiteful pleasure of rubbing a combination of salt, iodine, and snake venom right into the wounds of Oilers fan whose team, just in case no one's mentioned it yet, DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. Talk about your classic case of the suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked in the whole history of sucking.

PS: Enjoy trying to keep some of those younger RFA's on the Oilers, or does Kevin Lowe actually think that he's not going to get royally ass-raped by the other GM's after he made an enemy with Brian Burke over the Penner thing. The funniest part of the Edmonton off-season will be Oilers fans once again finding out the hard way how many of them are suffering from Pronger Syndrome and want to get traded somewhere else ASAP. Edmonton. Love it or leave it? Hell, most normal people just love leavin' it.
