.. including that guy who voiced Stat Can's paid radio broadcasts that proclaimed in a very stark voice "You must comply - it is the law!"
Although it has served us well as a means to wake up a few of the sleepy, the single most important issue that is absent from the debate, is that Lockheed Martin is merely a symptom of an underlying disease.
The item that should be vigorously opposed during any census no matter how ethically it is conducted, is that we are all being threatened with violence should we choose not to comply - and that *is* the solitary reason why organized crime syndicates are being shoved down our throats, and why otherwise good law abiding people such as Sandra are being treated as if they are actually criminals when nothing could be further from the truth.
If the census were truly voluntary as is often proclaimed through Newspeak i.e., "voluntary compliance", then we'd never see a corrupt census ever being conducted, since very few would ever participate in such a thing. If the census were truly voluntary, as it must be in a supposedly free and open society, then Stats Can would have no choice but to serve the will of the people rather than serve the will of its masters, and we'd always have a squeaky clean census to comply with.
As a supposedly free person living in a supposedly free and open society, I vehemently resent being coerced into "voluntarily complying", therefore for that reason alone, I opposed the 2006 census, and the census's before, and I'll continue to oppose the census's to come.
