<p>PM Harper has tabled legislation for "tough" laws for those who would sell defective goods to the Canadian people.</p>
<p>Canada's laws regarding product safety it seems, are some 40-50 out of date, and were enacted when the bulk of products sold were made in Canada and/or United States.</p>
<p>Well now, here is an interesting situation. Canada no longer manufactures anything to speak of. So Harper has (in effect, and with this legislation) directly threatened repercussions against the likes of China and WalMart, warning them to "smarten up" or face the consequences. Wonder how he plans on enforcing this statement: "To these outfits I say: Be warned, you will soon face severe punishment if you wilfully expose Canadians to danger."</p>
<p>China has all ready told Harper to mind his own business over human rights in that country and in Tibet. And I can imagine WalMart is beginning to tremble in dread. Oh yes, tremble in dread.........<br>

This is complete nonsense since Harper and other corrupt government officials involved with his government have also allowed CGI, the corporation that represents most, if not all, Canadian insurance companies and handles all the claims and litigation for lawsuits against Canadian insurance companies filed by Canadians, full access to and power over, including the power to fraudulently alter them, through CGI's extensive conflict of interest government contracts, Canadians private and personal information and records, including medical and financial records,etc... the very records that decide claims and lawsuits filed by Canadians against Canadian insurance companies, to serve their and their many insurance company clients private and financial interests, and to deny Canadians justice and our rights, so the information reported in this story is a serious deception.

As the stories on this website prove, CGI uses their extensive government contract positions to obstruct justice and deny Canadians justice, including altering Canadians private and confidential records, as the evidence proves my health records were fraudulently altered by CGI. And further CGI have extensive contracts with Justice Canada who choose the judges in this country and with provincial justice departments, including Alberta Justice, which gives them significant power and influence over insurance claims filed in Canadian courts, including power over court and discovery transcripts and improper influence with the judges as the undeniable evidence in our case proves, so what good does improving laws do when the government has allowed CGI to corrupt the courts so Canadians can't get justice when they have been hurt or injured or suffered losses...it's all a scam to deceive Canadians into believing they are taking care of them when the evidence proves they are not.

If you don't believe me I invite you to read the stories about our case on this site written by Robin Mathews who has seen a great deal of the evidence relating to our case and it convinced him to write the stories he has written and much more. Or contact me and I will provide anyone that is interested with the evidence proving the information in the story above is meaningless because of the corruption involved with CGI that the indisputable evidence proves Harper and at least many of his minister's are involved in.
Harper has proven himself to have absolutely no integrity at all, and anyone who would say otherwise is either in denial, lying or seriously uninformed...he's without question seriously corrupt, and the fact that he would further lie to Canadians in this way, as his relationship with Michael Fortier who is involved with the corruption relating to CGI proves, to further attempt to deceive Canadians when the evidence proves he knows about CGI and the corruption relating to their involvement with his government is truly and seriously disgraceful. Harper and his government have proven they don't give a damn about me, a single mother, or my 2 children, and the horrific injustice that has been done to us by CGI, a Canadian corporation...so it cannot be believed he or his government give a damn about any Canadian citizen that doesn't serve his personal and corrupt interests.

Harper has (once again) proven that his is a do nothing government. Much smoke, many mirrors, and very dexterous slight-of-hand.........

   

I think it's a step in the right direction. Considering the laws haven't really been examined and altered in any meaningful way in over 30 years it's long over due.

   

Only if the changes are effective. If they are not (and it looks at first glance that they cannot possibly be in any substantive way), then it is only electioneering...........

Ahh, I see. It's an "electioneering" thing is it? So I guess that's why all the opposition parties are supporting it and not trying to add their own amendments to it? For such a useless bill it's sure getting an awful lot of support. Or maybe the opposition is just electioneering too? I guess that makes them just as guilty of trying to fish for votes as your implying Harper is.

NO ONE wants to stand accused of shooting down such a "good intention". And with Harper's insistence that every vote be a confidence vote, NO ONE wants to be accused of bringing in another election. It is electioneering par excellence!
BTW, "support" does not guarantee a good bill. I would like to see methodology, rather than just "feel good" stuff.

Hopefully it has teeth. It certainly is needed. Unless this proves to be a worthless initiative by being ineffective, it's another of a growing list of right moves by the Harper Government.

   

Yes.....like so much of what the harper government has done, it SOUNDS very good. But as ex-BC Premier Bill Vander Zalm once noted, what's the point of having sizzle without the steak?
