Theft #1: Registrations gone with the wind.

On January 1, 2006, while America slept off New Year's Eve hangovers, a new federal law crept out of the swamps that has devoured 1.9 million votes, overwhelmingly those of African-Americans and Hispanics. The vote-snatching statute is a cankerous codicil slipped into the 2002 Help America Vote Act -- strategically timed to go into effect in this mid-term year. It requires every state to reject new would-be voters whose identity can't be verified against a state verification database.

Sounds arcane and not too threatening. But look at the numbers and you won't feel so fine. About 24.3 million Americans attempt to register or re-register each year. The New York University Law School's Brennan Center told me that, under the new law, Republican Secretaries of State began the year by blocking about one in three new voters.

Forgot 4: All soldiers votes are automagically counted.

During the 2000 election it was revealed that ALL military votes were to be counted, with scrutiny rejection waived.

That may not sound like much in Canada, where our military is the size of a typical US city's police force, but in the US, that's a couple million votes.

Hmmmmmm. And just WHO does a soldier typically vote for?

But despite all the hoopla, there was no false flag op and the Democrats have finally carried the day in most states. I'm partically happy with the new House speaker.

The Repugnicans cheated their butts off, but still couldn't hold back the tide.
9-11 Truth already!

“But despite all the hoopla, there was no false flag op and the Democrats have finally carried the day in most states. I'm partically happy with the new House speaker.”

There was or is no single false flag operation to deny voters their rights but several ongoing well documented deliberate procedures were carried out between elections by different states to reduce the number of votes that would be counted for the Democrats. (Not to mention during the election.)

As you say, soldiers’ votes may be counted automatically.

But these efforts are diluted by increased voter turnout. Only so many votes can be controlled by these methods, in this case around 4.5 million. A 100% voter turnout would make these efforts almost a complete waste of time. The voter turnout was higher this time around, how much would be interesting to know.

It is refreshing, I have to agree.

Since it was such a large rejection they couldn't use the sorts of methods that are possible in a close match. In Mexico they were able to steal the presidency by shaving a few votes here and there, adding a couple of ballots here and there etc. To steal the US election with such a turnout and such a large anti-Bush vote would be far too obvious.

Yup Diogenes, very little will change. The list of corporations donating equals amounts to both parties is long indeed. The Republicrats are still running their phony dog and pony show for public consumption while obeying cannibalistic corporate interests.

"I'm partically happy with the new House speaker."

I'm not. She's not good whatsoever. Deals have been done so that she will not call for ANY impeachment hearings.

What did you expect? She's openly calling for withdrawal from Iraq already. And she has stated that if any NEW information comes forward, she will re-examine the issue. That's her escape clause. We all know there are rooms full of 'NEW' information, just waiting to be released.

Don't count her out. My only advice to her would be, do your best to be on the GOOD side of the CIA, and get yourself some damn good bodyguards.

I recall her saying something to the effect that impeachment would only tie up the government so it wasn't something she wanted to promote.
