About that American electorate, half of it supports a man known to have no social values, knows no compassion and has no intellect. More than half of America wants this man to be their president. If this is what passes as American leadership at home and abroad, I think it best Canada not cozy up to it and its probable 2nd term government. If my opinion of Bush makes ME a redneck, then I must be one but please tell Anonymous, what do you call those who support the great moron himself ?
Anon, you can't expect people to take you seriously if you think the American people and the US admin believe in the same fairy tales.
The US admin has considered the US electorate as a bunch of followers, and they will follow a disturbed president and his suicidal policies.
They are simply not informed by the US media, they really want to think their president is a proud, thoughtful American.
What a surprise they have coming if they re-elect this "person" and his band of "mercenaries".
Dubya is no Robin Hood !!
And what part of the BMD, the NMD, the whatever you want to call it doesn't work don't you get ??
It sounds like a parent saying no to the child and the child keeps on doing it.
Get real !!

A little off topic of Missile Defense but I believe Canada shouldn't rely on USA and United Kingdom to protect us from the terrorists of the world. Canada should be focused on protecting itself with its own military that is sufficient enough to protect Canada with the technology of today.

Alliance Atlantis films proudly presents...
No, we shouldn't rely on the US, or the UK, to protect us like we do now, but Canada has always taken part in alliances for defence. These alliances have kept the peace for decades even though our contribution is and has been negligible. The future is not likely to be nearly as peaceful as these past decades have been, so it is about time Canada took some responsibility for its own defence and strengthened the alliances with our allies.
We haven't had peace for decades, just because the corporat media doesn't report the wars and "police actions" or claims that there is no apparent reason for the latest genocide doesn't mean that we have peace on Earth. What year was it that there was no war going on? Come on, out with it! Just because the corporat media doesn't mention any motives for the latest blood bath in a poverty stricken country ( which has oil or some other valuable natural resource ) doesn't mean you should swallow their propaganda line, hook and sinker. <p>The fact that there has never been peace on earth means that we need <b>new alliances and new tactics</b>. Repeating the same mistake over and over is a sign of insanity.
<p>Quote:</p> <i>"...it isn't just the little people who are saying it doesn't work, scientists are saying it, Americans are saying it, the U.S. investigated the claim about their patriot missiles during the first Gulf War and found out that they had not hit one scud missile, although it was reported nightly on CNN that they had."</i> <p>It's all about the money, plain and simple. In this country, Bay Street is wringing it's collective hands in glee at the prospect of setting up such a system. It doesn't matter that it does not work. Look at the profit margins!</p> The Bomarc missile system adopted by Pearson didn't work either. <u>But people made money off it</u>! And it succeeded in scuttling for good the Avro Arrow project, making us forever dependent on the US for "defense".<p>---<br>RickW
And we have Paul Martin, and in lieu of him, Stephen Harper, both known to be adherents of "the moron".......'nuff said.

If you still aren't sure what the U.S. objectives are on this one, go read the vision, takes awhile to download but certainly worth the read: U.S. Vision for 2020

Still not clueing in that missile defence DOES NOT WORK!
