Something very much like this has happened in the candidates' race for federal Liberal leader. There were 16 potential contenders at a debate in Edmonton in early April. Some have since dropped out; others have joined the race. Several highly qualified women are either running – businesswoman Martha Hall Findlay – or considering it – members of Parliament Dr. Carolyn Bennett and Ruby Dhalla.

Women are only truly recognized by the Conservatives anyway. I don't know why anyone bothers with the Libs. They are a party that will hopefully eat themselves (or elect Rae as their saviour and watch the party self destruct).

True women's rights are only found in the Conservative party:
First Female Cabinet Minister
First Female PM

Although I'll be the first to say that Harper's contribution has been paltry... only 12% of his candidates in the last election were women (36 of 308). That is pathetic.

OK, I admit... this is a troll (and weak). But nobody has said squat on this in days.

   

Well, I don't label myself as lib or con, I feel they are basically the same except one wears a red tie, the other, a blue tie, (or even orange tie). I try to vote for who I think will do the best job or against who I think is a nazi.

But I think it is great that women are becoming more involved in politics. I don't think that women are any more qualified to do the job but having a female Lib leader just might rescue the party.

It kind of freaks me out a bit when I see your name on a post Mike, because that used to be my name. Last name is still 'Scott', first and middle are my username. So, you-see, I have a different take on life, I can see things from both sides. I am not a feminist nor am I a 'traditional' woman and like I was never 100% male, (though that is what people thought), I am not 100% female, (though that is what people think), psychologically. Men & women are more alike than what we are culturally bred to believe. B&W thinking is what divides us whether it's the battle of the sexes, politics, religion, race, brand loyalty, art, culture, etc.

Well that has got me booted from a few forums, c'est la vie.
