it's a disgrace of course. I think this American cop has it right: <br />

A decision by the police to subdue Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver International Airport with a Taser was "inappropriate" because the four officers present should have been able to physically control him, says an American policing expert.<br />
<br />
After watching the video of Dziekanski's death, Michael Lyman said the police should have been able to restrain the Polish immigrant using their hands.<br />

"I don't even think batons or mace would have been necessary, given that there were four officers on the scene."<br />

Homeland Stupidity Threat Level: 4
A 10 minute video of a six hour event and everyone is a critic. The man is calm and then turns violent and then gets calm again. No one knows what language he is speaking and yet a interpreter was to be on hand. The RCMP get a call that a violent man is on the premises and asked to subdue him.
Hindsight is all so clear. No one can say why he remained in the area for over six hours. No one can say why he was not approached, for spending a length time in a high security area. Tasers are not proving to be an alternative tool but alternative to what? Battons nor rubber bullets are the effective tool and "talking" to a violent person certainly is uneffective.
So, you are a police officer called into an unknown situation. All you know is that there is a violent man talking in a strange tongue and there are civilians in the area. Just what is it, you would do?
---
Expect little from life and get more from it.
If the police officers did the right thing, why did the RCMP's official initial
account of the incident differ sharply from what happened on the video? If this
matter was handled properly, why did they feel the need to distort the facts?
Why did the person who shot the video have to get a lawyer involved to have his
confiscated video returned to him? If five police officers can't effectively handle
one unarmed person without resorting to use of a deadly weapon, then they
have no business being police officers.
The RCMP arrive on the scene and do nothing to try and figure out why the man was misbehaving, no attempt what-so-ever was made to calm the man down. They were clearly told he could not speak English, so verbal communication was obviously impossible.
They attacked the man without any obvious reason right when it appeared he was calming down, using 50,000 volts of electricity x 2.
They attacked him again while he was convulsing uncontrollably on the ground, again using 50,000 volts x 2.
4 officers simultaneously jump on the man (which may have been the cause of death) while he was still convulsing uncontrollably from the repeated electrocution attacks.
After they realize that the man is either dead or dying, they do absolutely nothing to try and resuscitate him, instead they begin cleaning up their mess without the slightest hint of concern for the mans life.
Then they LIE:
* They lie about how many officers were at the scene.
* They lie about how many times the man was electrocuted.
* They lie about how violent and threatening the man was.
* They lie about how many people were in potential harms way, claiming that pepper spray could not be used.
Then they try and hide the evidence and cover up the crime:
* They refuse to return the confiscated video of the incident, until a threat of a lawsuit gets the video returned.
* They investigate themselves, which can only result in an outcome favorable to the RCMP.
Then they LIE some more:
* Despite the release of the video, they continue to lie, claiming that the officers did nothing wrong DESPITE clear evidence to the contrary.
<p>Good Catch... <p>They DO look like fellows that KNOW nothing will happen to them... <p>Say -- you don't think that when the RCMP first reported there was no video that is what the arresting cops BELIEVED. <p>Say -- you don't think think that the cops did what they did BECAUSE they figured they weren't being filmed? <p>Nawh perish the thought... <p>Anyway -- my TV has urgent news from the THREAT in Afghanistan to our Canadian way of life...I must return quickly before they notice me gone. <p>"the Cake is a Lie and they aren't party escorts!" <p><i>After the final test, Chell is "sent to receive her cake", but is plunged into a furnace (to "be baked," as GLaDOS had accidentally admitted numerous previous times, with glitches resembling Freudian slips). She manages to escape into a maintenance area and GLaDOS begins to show agitation, claiming first that it was the real final test, and then that it was just a joke. She tells Chell that there will be a party held in her honor and urges her to "assume the party-escort submission position" on the floor.</i> <p><a href="http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Portal">Portal wikia</a>
How about the RCMP lie about this video being a "small part of the evidence"?
What next? They will claim that the video was digitally altered? I wonder what
they would have said about the video if the roles were reversed and the Polish
immigrant had assaulted and injured the police officers. Would it have been a
"small part of the evidence" for them then or would they have said the video tells
the entire story?
Distorting and spinning the facts is nothing new when it comes to a
dishonorable group in power carrying out an agenda. The media and the
politicians do it all the time.
It has recently been reported that Afghan prisoners were tortured according to officials, including with electric shock and physical abuse, and that this violates international law, so this information supports that the RCMP tortured a sleep deprived, scared, reasonably distressed innocent man that didn't understand English or anything the officers said to him and couldn't communicate with them, who clearly was no threat to others as he made no attempt to injure anyone and clearly needed help, and killed him with their torture.
This innocent man was horribly unjustly tortured and got the death penalty without an investigation, charges being laid or a trial in our country, Canada, by our national police force, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Anyone who concludes less or defends the actions of these heinous criminals should consider doing so is supporting the RCMP doing this to them or their friends or loves ones.
