That's right, in buying a future Coors-Molson product, you are putting your dollars directly in the pockets of people you hate--and people who probably hate you. You won't be able to drink a Molson Canadian in good conscience after you follow these links:

The National Lawyers Guild, Corporations.org and the By Any Means Necessary organization are attacking Coors, and this is supposed to want to make us boycott them? If they're against them then I'll raise a glass of Coors to Coors!
You do that...I'll have a bottle of Fort Garry Dark. I win, it's a much better beer than anything Coors or Molson ever made.
Sure, that's okay for you. But what do we in Ontario do?
Seems to me an effort to build bridges between Ontario and Western Canada could start with you sending a few cases our way.
Think I'll avoid Coors. Have enough concerns about my mental processes without taking the risk of suffering Anon's fate.
I think we should all e-mail Molson`s and tell them that we boycott their products if they go ahead with this merger! Nice people, the Coors clan, eh?

I'm sure you have some very competent micro-breweries in Ontario, Calumny. I seem to remember some delightful products from a company called Upper Canada Breweries or something like that.
I think both Molson's and Coors have been suffering a defacto boycott, Dave. That's what brought this about. A lot of us have switched to local beer, especially in cities where Molson and Labatt's shut their plants down. A lot of people don't drink as much either because the population is aging and becoming more health-conscious.
There's also a lot more choices than there used to be. After work I can go sit on the patio at the Kingshead and have a Tetleys, or I can go sit in a dark room and have a Coors Light. Hmmm, one of the best beers on the planet in a pleasant atmosphere, or some commercial slop in a place that smells like urine?
Ah, hoisted by my own petard. Still, had to try...
Yes, we do have some nice little places where one can relax for a few hours quaffing beverages brewed on the premises. There are also some good choices for home use. Sometimes I brew my own.
Been many years since I drank 'big brewer' products (whether Canadian or otherwise.).
Sleemans also just bought the little Quebec brewery responsible for two of my favorite beers, "Fin de Monde" and "Maudite".

With Sleemans "Silver Creek" and "Honey Brown", plus the other two, and my favorite local brewer Big Rock, I now have no reason to buy from Labatts and Molson. I don't think I have bought anything from them in 10 years.

On the business end too, Corona - owned by Budweiser - is distributed in Canada by Molsons. Since they are owned now by Coors, Bud will probabally give the distribution to Sleemans - further increasing their profits.

Who wins? We do!

I've been Boycotting Coors my whole life. Not because of their sinister business practices, but because they make terrible, terrible beer.
Seriously, my kidneys brew a better beer than Coors.

I don't drink beer
See, now that's the problem...if you drank beer then Molson's wouldn't need to merge with Coors and the government would have more tax money to treat beer-related illnesses with. You should take up smoking too. j/k
I freely admit to drinking mass market beer in Canada and the US. I try to buy other things, but all retailers do not carry all products.
