What in your oppinion do you think is the best? I personally loved the movie "The Arrow" that was aired several years ago that starred Dan Ackroyd.
Ok, it isn't CBC, but I think Blue Murder is perhaps one of the best Canadian series ever produced. I'd go into science fiction shows, but most of those are filmed in Canada these days.
Th Arrow was awsome! i love that movie. I have it on cd in divX
I really hope the arrow will be aired again, I saw most of it but not all. I would love to watch it.
Trudeau
(1) Peacekeepers
(2) The Arrow
Haven't seen Trudeau myself, never really been interested in the fellow to bother watching many docs on him. Most of my information on him comes mainly from the Canadian military history books I have in my personal library.
I have to agree with Scooter. I have commented on this site before about the arrow. When I was just a young lad in Air Cadets I did a bunch of research about the arrow and the mini series was an incredible punch into Canadian history. It has some Fiction of course but was so well done. Peacekeepers hit home hard at although not based on a true story I think that any Canadian soldier that has been over seas somewhere can tell you a story about an event that they have been involved in that would directly relate. I must say that without a doubt they are two that I will never forget.
TRUDEAU an The Arrow best in a long time.
and Air farce oh yeah!
How would you classify Canada: A People's History? I think it is just a series but maybe too long to be a mini-series. Anyway, I like it and have almost all the video collection. I like it for two reasons:
1. The plot is progressive in terms ot time periods only so it was possible to miss an episode and catch up easily in the next one.
2. There were a lot of perspectives on our history which I think is good for our children. I sensed that the creators really tried to get to the root of many historical events related to Canada.
I think if anything, Canada: A People History was too short! They only went up to the Meech Lake constitution in 1992. They should have at least went up to the 1995 Quebec refferendum.
I agree Johnny Canuck. There could have been more. That just might have been a time and/or money budget limit. But what did you think of the other parts/episodes?
