Hey all, Im looking for documentaries about the Canadian forces. Sort of like a behind the scenes look of what its like to be in the forces, I would preferably like it to be a modern movie (2003 or more recent).

If it had a look into the navy that would be amazing also!

thanks a ton!

Long Live Canada!

Sorry I don't have any, all I got is a blog on our ground forces. I will check my YouTube account I may have a links to our to military personel with their own YouTube vids and docs. I will post the links here as well. You can try a YouTube search looking for Canadian Navy/anti piracy. or Canadian Navy/somali pirates

Even had some CKAers on one episode, IIRC.

For another really good documentary, WWI though;

This is a good one, actually produced by the forces is it not? My old man sent my son an episode on boarding party training (as he's doing it right now at 53 years young :rock: )

Yup. I think it is a great show. Everything from basic training, RMC, to an active mission on a Frigate pulling people out of the water after a volcanic eruption overseas.

On Youtube they have many.

So you're just looking for combat footage and not actually produced documentaries?

BeaverFever @ Tue Mar 22, 2011 8:19 am

There are several produced by the Underground Royal Commission that often air on ichannel. Mostly contemporary stuff: Balkans, Afghanistan, etc and often dealing with the controversy, politics and bureaucracy of modern operations, but the war stories are there too.

Anyone looking for good info about Canadian Missions on Youtube check it carefully because a lot of American footage is in the mix. The difference is astronomical. We are probibly the only true anti-insurgence force in NATO Canadian tactics have been in operation since or missions in Cyprus(70s). The other members follows the US lead in seige warfare.

And when you're looking at American footage keep in mind that a lot CF work with American units. CF snipers frequently work with US teams (I think that's because the CF prefer our ammo and we prefer their rifles).
