Anyone seen this movie?
I saw it yesterday and I liked it. Not in a "that was brilliant" like "The Incredibles" kinda way, but in a "hmnnn...interesting" like "Closer" kinda way. I liked Ridley Scott's optimism in portraying the christians and muslims living in harmony until of course the extremists just have to have their war. He did a good job using religion as a backdrop for the movie without being preachy. If only life really was like that and christians and muslims alike really were that accepting (just generally speaking)...Ridley Scott certainly doesn't dissapoint in bringing the battle scenes to life. I usually don't like all the blood and guts, but I can appreciate the realness it adds to the movie. I also thought the casting was impeccable and Orlando Bloom did a great job carrying the movie (Hehe, after his role as Paris in Troy, I wasn't sure he could). In any case, it's one of those movies that make you think for a sec and wonder why we can't all just get along......until you exit the theatre and well, other more pressing issues push that "let there be love" thought out of ur mind
ya it was a great movie... ya i saw troy 2 i thought orlando might make the movie gay but he didnt...
they shoulda had more fighting other than that it was good, like gladiator btr though
Gladiator is good of course, but it still fills all the boxes in the Hollywood cliches list:
-blood and guts- check
-noble leader who is killed unjustly -check
-ursurper who fubar in the head -check
-protaganist with need for revenge - check
-hero gets his revenge follwed by noble death -check
-return to status quo antebellum -check
But yeah, still a great movie.
The incredibles was brilliant??? Anyways, I like it for Historical purposes of course..
Orlando Bloom is a metrosexual- any masculine combat role he is in he fully renders it effeminate.
Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, Blach Hawk Down and LOTR were still good, though.
I just liked the great balls of fire.
Pitt's lines were painful, though.
iam muslim
i want all to live in peace
I didnt like it very much.....I thought Troy was better...
