Matrix Reloaded

I just got back from the MAtrix reloaded. After spending my hard earned money to go see what is billed at one of the top movies of the summer I am throughly dissapointed. I am not going to give anything away by ranting about particulars but personally, I feel let down on this one.

I thought it was good. Believe it or not, but (I think) Time Magazine called it "The worst sequel to a very succesful prequel". I didn't know they kept track of that stuff.

I saw the movie on opening night, i though it kicked ass! the whole rave scene was a little sketch, but overall i liked the movie.

Some of the action scenes dragged and the rave/sex scenes were retarded i'm sad to say. I was honestly expecteing a better movie but when you look at the Matrix how could it COMPETE!??! :?:

Its kinda sad to see the Matrix fall into the whole "Sex is a must in movies" thing. Matrix 1 was great without the sex.

Well said you don't need sex in most of the movies where its "integral" to the plot it was not in the matrix reloaded. It actually detracted from it keep the sex in the porn kiddies

I thought overall it was a good movie. It would have been alot better if not for the sex scene and if it wasn't so focused on a romance. It also seems to me that the long talking scenes really kinda dragged on and it could have used a bit more action. But you gotta say that it was really cool when Neo was taking on like 100 Mr Smiths!! That part really kicked ass!!! And as for the sequal not holding up to the first one, well, how could you really improve on the first one? Overall it was pretty good.

Yeah, uggh. It really kinda thru me off of my enjoyment of the overall film.

The speach in the cave seemed ackward you know, kinda out of character

The speech was the most boring! I paid 7.50 to watch action, not rants. When I want to see rants, I come to this forum. :wink:

Has anyone seen "The Anamatrix"? It's a collection of 9 short animated films set in the Matrix world. My personal fave's where "Final Flight of the Osiris" and "A Detective Story".

I haven't seen all of the Animatrix shorts, but of the ones that I did see, they were good.

Bah Animatrix! The 2 things I hate the most are cartoon versions of the Matrix and Japanese cartoons, so dont expect me to like something that puts the 2 God forsaken things together!

I think i realized why most of the people i know didn't like the matrix reloaded:
In the first movie, we were discovering everything through the character of Neo. When something happened, the others use to explin him what happened like the deja-vu, the agents, what the matrix really is...
in the second movie, no one, not even morpheus, knows exactly what happens... they let the viewer see what's gonna happen so he can make the links by himself. I think it was great, really nice revelations like some people being programs... the chinese guy for example, the keymaker, like a program he always makes keys, nothing else, only one goal in life... and they picture it quite well... We also realize that everything revolves around choice, when neo chooses to go get Trinity instead of saving doing the deal with the father of the matrix (in the screens room), something no one before him ever tried, he realizes that its powers go well beyond the matrix itself, but could possibly affect anything connected to it.

I think it was a great movie, although not that obvious at first, but when you put your mind to it, you really understand a lot of things. The way a computer acts is just mavelously rendered in this movie, think about it, how the agents try to beat neo ofr example...

As for animatrix, well the stories were good but jeez i hated most of those drawings (the first one was great). I'm sorry but when the shape of the character changes as he moves his head... that's pretty weird and distracting... In addition to that i don't like anime that much so...
