Netflix Will Premiere Two All-New Seasons of Canada's Favorite 'Trailer Park Boys'

$1:
Two new seasons of revered Canadian mockumentary series "Trailer Park Boys" will be coming our way courtesy of Netflix, via an international distribution deal with Entertainment One. All new episodes of the comedy, as well as older seasons, will be exclusively available to Netflix members in Canada, the U.S. and all other Netflix territories.

Created by Mike Clattenburg, "Trailer Park Boys" focuses on the residents of Nova Scotia's Sunnyvale Trailer Park, among them Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay) and Bubbles (Mike Smith). The show's essentially been on hiatus since the end of season seven in 2007, but a new 10-episode season eight will be coming to Netflix starting this fall, with a ninth season to follow.

Since we last saw the Sunnyvale Trailer Park crew, there have been some significant changes: Ricky recently harvested an enormous weed crop which he has successfully hidden in the walls of his trailer, Julian has opened a bar and gym in his trailer and Bubbles is in the process of opening what he calls a "Shed and Breakfast" business.

Seasons one through seven of "Trailer Park Boys" are currently available in the U.S. via Netflix, and will be made available for the first time in the U.K., Ireland, Scandinavia and Latin America. In addition to the series, Netflix will debut three standalone specials: "Community Service Special," "Swearnet Special" and "Trailer Park Boys Xmas," along with two all-new feature films: "Trailer Park Boys 3: Don’t Legalize It" and "Swearnet," which will come to the service following their theatrical premieres this year.

“There’s no other trio quite like Julian, Ricky and Bubbles, and we’re thrilled to be the new home for these beloved hellraisers,” said Sean Carey, Vice President of Content Acquisition, Netflix. “Our US and Canadian members love 'Trailer Park Boys' and we’re excited to take their unique brand of humor to our markets throughout the Americas and Europe.”

The sheer shock value of this show when i first saw it floored me.
I was phoning friends and relatives begging them to tune in, which in turn they were begging people to tune in.

so many jabs at that part of our culture of ratted out Canadians.
I know people like this…make that ,knew people like this.
although the gun culture aspect i feel was directed at america.

it was brilliant..but it wore thin…
for me anyway…but i more than enjoyed a few seasons ...

So Netflix wants us to buy something that is years old and was already on TV weekly?

No, there are two seasons that were aired only via interwebs. They bought the rights to the show from CBC, and tried direct marketing. Now you can watch them on Netflix.

I wonder when it'll be released. I just checked my Netflix and it isn't there yet.

Netflix shows like House Of Cards end up on the torrent sites as fast as HBO programs so anyone who doesn't do Netflix won't go wanting for very long.

I'm just looking forward to the Official CKA Trailer Park Boys Discussion Thread to start up again. It'll be better than getting two birds in the hand stoned at once!

I wonder just what direction the new shows will take. I heard one reason they packed up the show was that they had pretty much covered every storyline about drunken, drug addled, ex cons that they could think of.

So here's a question. What direction do you folks think the story's will take? My guess is more about Randy and Mr. Laheys deviant sexual behaviour and illicit love affair. Maybe a girlfriend for Bubbbles ala Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory and of course more gunplay with Cyrus.

The possibilities are as they say. Endless.

From what I read elsewhere, kinda more of the same. Ricky is growing dope, Julian is trying to run a semi legit business as is bubbles.

Count_Lothian @ Fri Mar 07, 2014 12:58 am

Bubbles has sex with his kitten

Julian is pimping Ricky to guys

Randy tries on a shirt and likes it until lahey cuts him off grill cheese sandwiches and beer
J-Joc goes country

Lucy and Sarah make lesbian porn movies

The final episode the Trailer Park empties into a sink hole .

Everyone moves to a Scarberia (Scarboro toronto slang) Motel shared with refugee Gypsies.
