So every time you go see a movie or rent one, part of your money will be used to support bailout a once large corporation that never evolved, now stuck producing a dead end product. 
Just because consumers no longer use it, it isn't a dead product. It's a niche product.
A dead product would have NO possible uses/applications, this still has one use - industrial.

FFS grow up, its funny when Sheldon Cooper acts all geeky and nerdy, but its ridiculous when actual grown men do it. Just enjoy ( or don't ) the movie. Its not holy scripture that you have to go out on a crusade if somebody messes with it.
Hell these people get less upset if you do.
He fucked up Star Wars, He screwed with Star Trek, He ruined LOTR....boo hoo, get a life !
