Can I be a conservative and still believe that the populace shouldn't be armed?

When did the question even creep into our culture anyway?

... a Conservative Red Tory, maybe ...

Freakinoldguy @ Sat Aug 16, 2014 11:07 pm

Amazing. It's just like Carnac the Great. I got Conservative but I also notice that most of the questions had answers that I normally wouldn't have given. So to say the test is slanted is an understatement.

I would have answered "none of the above" to most of the questions.

It's an American quiz so it really doesn't apply to most Canadians. So called American liberals often hold views to the right of Canadian conservatives.

Jabberwalker @ Sun Aug 17, 2014 8:25 am

That's for sure!!

You have strong Conservative Views, You are a Conservative!

You believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American (British, actually) values and a strong national defense (defence). You are patriotic and live by great principles. You cherish tradition, culture and religion. You generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems and like to set great example for others to follow.

I'd agree with the traditional British values interpretation, as the Americans claimed they were revolting to protect their rights as Englishmen. They felt their traditional rights were being violated, not aspiring to some new set of values.
