Hi people

Im listening to some classical tunes remixed with European techno. Id have to say that I really like it. Take Bach's Cannon in D major or Andrea Boccelli's Time to say goodbye for example. I love both in their traditional orchestra/Opera way (Cannon in D major is my FAV classical tune). Now add some techno, I recommend European techno for this. An awsome mix of both classical and modern sound, I like it alot.

Do you people like it when songs get remixed or are they better left in their original format?

To me, it depends on how well the original has been remixed. If they do a good job of it, then it's not too bad, but if they do a shit job of it, then there better off leaving it as it is. 8)

Personally, i think it would be interesting to hear some of the opposite: classical orchestras playing modern music. One of the best examples of this type of thing is the S&M album by Metallica and the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra and in particular the song No Leaf Clover.

I just prefer hearing older forms of music playing newer songs, rather than new music playing older songs, or in this particular case, remixing them.

It's about a decade old, but 'O Fortuna' by Apotheosis is pretty awesome (I think it is Beethoven's 9th Symphony)

uhmm O fortuna is from the German Opera Camena Burana.. written by Carl Orff.. who by the way is still alive and well living in Germany ( or at least his family is... They won a court injunction against the group Apotheosis from playing thier version of his song.. needless to say copywrite is a wonderful thing. Apparently The settled out of court for a sum of over 1 million dollars. Now anytime the song is played in public Orff's family gets the residule not apotheosis since they did not obtain permission before using the song...

Some songs are great.. some are just crap.. getting tired of hearing some of them though.. guess everything's been done.. no originality anymore...

Thats true twister. No real originality these days. Its not just concentrated on music, but also on tv and movies. But as long as they do a good job of remixing or "fine tune" it, then people accept and enjoy it.

Worse "remix" album I've ever heard must be the SPAWN (live action) movie soundtrack. Mix heavy metal and rap together.....junk.

What is the worse "remix" albums you people ever heard?

what about song that have been released lately, like for example, Green Day's Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and Oasis - Wonderwall mixed together to listen to, which is a really good remix, then there is Nine Inch Nails - Closer and 50 cents In Da Club remix, which for 50 cent is an improvement since there is now talent in the song. HAHA. Definatly worth downloading.

Um, wrong. You're just bad at finding it. The amount of musical creativity coming from people these days is amazing, to say the least.
