Thanks DAN74....forgot about band of brothers...That was quite impressive. That Richard Winters is somrthing else!

Do yourself a fav and read the stand or watch the movie....it is quite good!!

If you like war movies then you have to get All Quiet on the Western Front. Give you a look from the German side of things. Its really old so expect poor quality video, but the story line is amazing, really gets you thinking.

Oh a couple I forgot aboot....Clerks...FUNNNNNNN-E....and you may call me crazy but Canadian Bacon was hillarious.....Ready to Rumble....the movie was quite lame, but when its over they show a bunch of clips and takes that never made it into the movie and they are funny. It worth watching just for that.

On a side note, just dropped my baggy on my keyboard!!! Freaking grass everywhere!!!!

By the way, what has happened to music nowadays? Where's all the Jimi Hendrix type of guitarist, or pink floyd type of bands nowadays? I mean, all artist have liked to make money, but couldn't any bands nowadays please make good music? No offense towards those of you that think music nowadays kicks ass, but I just can't stand alot of it.

Totally agree with you Johnny. It increasingly seems that the only talent one requires to get a record deal these days is the ability to either shake your ass, dance in a non-amateurish manner, or how you fit into a push up bra. Bu there are still excellent bands out there, you just have to look harder for them becuase people with talent are virtually excluded from all radio playlists. To get airtime, bands have to be as inoffensive as possible so that they can sell as many records as possible. In my opinion, the few people you hear on the radio or MM are Evanescence, Eminem, U2, and a few tohers who I can't remember right now.

Sorry for getting a little off topic.

A couple movies I see no one has mentioned are
Enemy at the Gates (movie is so-so the guy its based on is interesting)
Zulu

Yeah, there are a few good bands out there nowadays, but for the most part, I don't see how it's ever going to be the same level as classic rock or whatever else came out of the 60's, 70's, and even the 80's. I actually don't mind 80's music at all, because it really seemed like they were doing something new, and the early 90's had some great bands, but lately it seems like alot of bands are just ripping off old bands and are too into image. This is not to say old bands didn't have an image, but at least it wasn't a uniform, already been done image(such as modern "punk" music). I don't mind some bands though, such as Radiohead, Grandaddy, uhh, can't remember much else. Hopefully in 20 years I won't be turning on the radio and hearing "here's another classic from eminem" or "here's a great classic from Evanescence."

putz....
I agree that Army of Darkness is a great movie that did not get its due.
If your a Bruce Cambell fan check out Bubbaho-tep.

canadian 71
I have watched Band of Brothers at least a dozen times since Christmas I love it.
That whole company was played so well by the actors.
Its too bad they don't do more shows like that,Canadian,British even from a German point of view like All Quiet.
That is a piece of history that must never be forgotten.
and yes Clerks rule but my all time fav comedy is a movie called Mystery science theater 3000.The movie not the series. If you can find it

the movie 'Enemy at the Gates' was ok, many things were incorrect and the book is way better, Vasili Zaitzev only occupies about 2 pages of the entire book. You sometimes have to stop reading just to let what happened there sink in.

Looks like i am going to have to see Dr Strangelove at some point and i cannot add anything else to the favourites list, mine have all been said

This will give you an idea of Stalingrad and why the Germans called it "the mass grave of the werhmarct(?)"

Vilhelm Hoffman German 6th Army

Sept. 16
Our battalion, plus tanks, is attacking the grain elevator. The battalion is suffering heavy loses. The elevator is occupied not by men, but by devils that no bullets or flames can destroy.

Sept. 18
Fighting is going on inside the elevator. If all the buildings of Stalingrad are defended like this, than none of our soldiers will get back to Germany.

Sept. 20
The battle for the elevator is still going on.

Sept. 22
Russian resistance in the elevator has been broken. Our troops are advancing towards the Vulga. We found only about 40 Russians dead in the elevator.

sry off topic I know! The world at war documentry is where I heard this. Recomended for those who want to know a bit more about WW2

Streaker @ Wed Feb 09, 2005 8:12 pm

...Okay...five favourite movies:

1- Five Easy Pieces (Vintage Nicholson)
2- Taxi Driver (Travis Bickle: Lunatic? Hero? Heroic Lunatic?)
3- Blow Up (Weird but cool. Wish I knew what it was all about...)
4- Spinal Tap (A Marty DiBergi production)
5- Being John Malkovich (Heavy but funny)

Narrowing this down to five is tough. I'll probably add more to my list later.

Streaker @ Wed Feb 09, 2005 9:58 pm

6- Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Come to think of it, pretty much anything by Monty Python...)

<font size="3" color="purple"font face="Comic Sans MS">Valentine's day on Monday.
I am an avid movie collector.. now the question is...
What will I watch on my day off?
I don't like sappy, tissue box next to the remote, love stories.
I like action, a good story line, be it fiction or non.
Last "chick flick" I saw was "Calendar Girls" which I enjoyed thoroughly.
Last "even too wierd for me" movie was "The Boondock Saints".
Any suggestions?
"Titanic" not an option...
There is just something about Leonardo Decaprio that grosses me out...
And I'm a woman!!!

LOL
