Just had a minor trembler

We just a tiny little tremor and I'm watching all the Chinese freak out. It didn't even spill my coffee(a gingerbread latte from Starbucks). Running into traffic is what's going to get them killed. A 5.3 at the epicentre, to our east, but only a 3 here.

Its not the first one that you should fear :evil:

We didn't feel a thing here in Kelowna, but heard of the 2-3 quakes last week around ather parts of North West BC (I think?)

Yeah a three just rocks you to sleep.....

A long while back I spent a whack of time in Indonesia. It did get exciting at times.

Folks running into traffic is common.

I recall a 2.5 under Lake Erie getting folks excited hereabouts....I was driving at the time and only learned of it from the radio. The rational ones described it as the same sensation as the quarries blasting except it kept up for 15-20 seconds.

Oh... I thought maybe this was about a "knee trembler"... :lol:

Here on the west coast it's usually the Juan de Fuca fault.

This is life on the east coast mostly. They get all the big typhoons and tremors usually.

We have some extensive limestone quaries in this district and most minor quakes here are mistaken for the blasting. A 5.6, under lake erie, a few years back, seemed like the quarries blasting except it kept up for about 30 seconds.
I diagnosed as a quake and my associates were dubious (or worse) until the news carried it.
Indonesia was memorable for sometimes rocking you to sleep.

I've experienced lots of quakes and none of them 'rock you to sleep.'

I sleep through thunderdunders---do you?

I go back to sleep when we have minor earth quakes, but they wake me up nonetheless because having your house move is not condusive to a sound sleep. I sleep through thunderstorms all the time, or like I said about quakes, I go back to sleep after they wake me up.
