Short thread, day trip, alone, and not many places to take a pic.
But here goes...
From Domodossola IT to Brig CH, up the Simplon Pass, only 2005 metres up.
That's too high up for me.
Of course, there is always a reason for these trips:
The Cemetery in Vevey, Switzerland.
Here are pics of the Canadians buried there, both WW1 and WW2 :
One very Special, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment:
The Church that looks after them... St. Martin's
Next are pics around Lake Geneva:
Went right under this hotel in Montereux,
possibly the Grand of Deep Purple 'Smoke on the Water' Fame
Couldnt find a place to stop, so i stole this from their website...
Oh Marty that church looks awesome!
Like a castle
And then the way from Montereux to Brig..
Funny place for a factory.. sorry its a shit pic.
The Swiss grow grapes !!
And back up the hills..
There are maybe 10 of these type tunnels on the way up and down.
A memorial for workers dying during construction ( I think )
And the summit..
and that's it, just a quick peek
Fantastic martin! Thanks for sharing those pics with us. Beautiful scenery!
