This is a wonderful example of Democracy inaction.

   

Fair is fair. Every party in power has this opportunity to steer committees the way they want.

   

Absolutely. This is still how democracy dies. Stifling voices, and subverting democracy.

   

Whether one party is allowed to make a partisan issue a matter of national attention or not isn't the death knell for democracy. Democracy died when Corporations became people and became Special Interest Groups that are allowed to lobby politicians, when the people they represent aren't.

   

Can't argue with that.

For a country that prides itself on being morally "superior" to the United States, we are just as bad (if not worse) as the Americans when it comes to mudslinging. What I find amusing is the political inversion because its the Liberal that are ones who are fear mongering, just like they sneer at the Republicans for doing.
