Poor ridenrain, ran out off your medication again I see. Still having those nightmarish delusions of Harper being PM? I sure hope they find you some meds that help you with that.

Ya know, I'd be actually voting Conservative this election if they had turfed Harper to the curb after the last election. Those adds of his, well, are beyond stupid and the CPC's should hire actors that actually can act next time, Harper, won't be in them next election and then maybe the CPC will get my vote again.
Get rid of the neo-con Alliance domination of that party, elect someone more in tune with what Canadians want, such as a John Tory or Bernard Lord as leader of that party and a lot of Canadians would probably share your views.
Until then, they don't stand a chance.

Here is another tidbit that is sure to shake your view of the world - Harper uses a teleprompter for all his campaign events!!! Oh no! And he also has a body language tutor who prompts him from outside the camera's view!! Oh no!

RedBull RedBull:
Don't be an idiot....he uses teleprompters when he is giving his remarks. Q&As are free-flowing.

Are Q&A not campaign events? You must be a Card carrying Fiberal member because you can't keep you're story straight either.
Who's the idiot now?

You really make it too easy. I was not criticizing any one party...I was merely trying to clue you into the reality of message manipulation that all parties do.

Media availabilities are indeed "events", but what I am talking about are the events when leaders make announcements of policy.

It's interesting....

I was watching a news program that had a young adult asking people to view the commericals and rate them

Most thought laytons was funny, but said nothing, just negative about the other party

Most thought Harper's was poorly acted

Most loved Martin's. They thought the people in it were natural, they told a story, etc.

Until the young adult told them how each person was connected to the higher echelons of the liberal party, aka, not the average canadian.

It's tiny, but for a party that is supposed to be "utterly transparent" (paul martin's words), tricking the viewers into believing they were not just "average liberal supporters" was misleading. Especially since they had attributed them as "liberal supporters". Why did they not go all the way and attribute them fully? They must have known that it would look bad when the media eventually found out

Afterall, in high school, are we not taught the value of attribution?

And in elementary school were you not taught not to believe everything you saw on TV?

The only people who look natural and unrehearsed on TV are professional actors... that's why they're used for ads, etc.

TV is not real life, people. Even Survivor and other so-called reality shows are heavily edited.

Oh God!!!! say it isn't so so. Tell me those were just mean and malicious lies. My world is even now beginning to collapse. I'll have to re revaluate my entire belief system. Thanks you cruel cold hearte harridan.

Why didn't you say that then, instead of misleading people. We can't very well read you're mind now, can we.

If you look and listen very carefully, you'll see that the sound and video are not dead on either. Maybe you could all ask Harper if Grewal cut any parts out?

Are those CPC actors?
Does it sound like he's reading from a teleprompter?
Hell, that even sounds like humor and personality.

Point taken, but it takes him longer to finish a sentence than that Jeff Goldblum guy from Jurassic Park.

actually, the only people who looked natural and unrehearsed were on the liberal commercial. The reason for that: they are not reading off a telepromter; their comments have been firmly planted into their minds.

I don't believe everything I see on tv. My point was, why would the liberals only go halfway with their attribution? For each person, in the corner of the screen, it says their name and "liberal". They knew the media would check out where they came from. Why not go the distance and attribute fully?

It was amazing to watch how the people on the street on this news program changed their minds about the ad once they realized the "actors" were not really actors, but worked for the liberal party.

We expect them to be actors, and not necessarily agree with party politics. We don't expect them to be paid workers from that party.

As for not believing everything you see on tv...well Martin's ban on banned guns was VERY hard to believe. Never thought that could be done.

ps...I think I won!
