Debate leaves Harper ahead, May strengthened, Dion struggling and Duceppe irrelevant lol

I know this is taken from a blog, still it is an interesting read.

$1:
Despite the constant attacks, Stephen Harper performed strongly by donning his blue sweater vest and appearing the most rational and collected candidate of the group

$1:
the current Prime Minister seemed at ease -- though at times I’m certain he leap across the table and give Jack Layton a better balanced bludgeoning. Viewers of the French language debate joked that the Prime Minister seemed to have been sedated, while partisans both friendly and not yearned for more emotion; the unfriendlies hoped for anger while Conservatives hoped for more passion from their champion to describe their common agenda. In the English language debate, the Prime Minister seemed to exude what is more appropriately described as confidence than calm as he took the barrage that came as the polarized players flailed their collective left-wing and labeled him everything from out-of-touch with the middle class

I disagree, I'd call Dion irrelevant.

Our PM kept his cool and refused to get 'engaged'.
Why should he? Good strategy. Why get drawn out
and make a mistake. He's running as the incumbent
at a time our country is financially sound, even
with the US imploding south of us.

Duceppe is Duceppe. He's debating for amusement
really. Being concerned with only one province,
75% of the debate for him is moot hehe. Personally
I can't help but like the guy.

Dion has stepped so far to the left he can't touch
his toes with his right hand. He makes Layton look
like a Swiss banker in comparison.

I think Harper did what he had to do in the debates. How realistic is it to go up against 4 rivals and score political points. He had no choice but to play defence. Especially considering the vitriol which was flung his way. He was accused of everything from trying to destroy healthcare to being Bush.

I find ir ironic that he is constantly being portrayed as some blind US lover while in the meantime, May was born in the US, Ignatieff spent more time in the US, than Canada, and Dion holds a French passport.

It turns out Gilles Duceppe is more Canadian than May and Dion.

If Harper was more passionate, his enemies would claim that he is angry and mean. I will take the "too subdued" criticism over the prior.

Huh.

The latest Nanos numbers

$1:
Methodology and Results
A national random telephone survey is conducted nightly by Nanos Research throughout the campaign. Each evening a new group of 400 eligible voters is interviewed. The daily tracking figures are based on a three-day rolling sample comprised of 1,200 interviews. To update the tracking, a new day of interviewing is added and the oldest day dropped. The margin of accuracy is ±2.8%, 19 times out of 20 for 1,200 random interviews.

The numbers in parenthesis denote the change from the previous Nanos Research Survey completed on October 3, 2008.

Question: If a FEDERAL election were held today, could you please rank your top two current local voting preferences? (First ranked reported)

Committed Voters - Canada (N=1,029, MoE ± 3.1%, 19 times out of 20)
Conservative Party 34 (-1)
Liberal Party 30 (+2)
NDP 19 (NC)
BQ 10% (NC)
Green Party 7% (-1)
Undecided 14% (-2)
