Social programs are for lazy people that refuse to work for a living. Why should working people have to support someone that refuses to take a minimum wage job, because they receive more from the welfare then getting a job?

Healthcare is a social program as is education and lets not forget the biggest socialist endeavour we have, the military.

Why is it that everytime "social programs" is mentioned people automatically assume welfare?

They do it because they don't understand how civilized society works, Derby.

Whats worse is they always seem to assume that welfare is some easy ticket rather then the struggle that it is and that most people on it are shiftless layabouts with no plans to get a job.

Those people are arts or poly sci students at university.
