$1:
>Stephane Dion<**: (Voice of Translator): SO YOU'RE PERFECTLY RIGHT, THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO DO SOMETHING. WE CAN'T JUST LET THINGS CONDITION. SO MYSELF, I PROMISE THAT WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS THE LIBERAL GOVERNMENT WILL ASK THE REGULATORY AGENCIES OF CANADA, LIKE THE BANK OF CANADA THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS SO THAT IT BETTER PROTECTS THE SAVINGS OF CANADIANS. AND SO THE MAJOR ECONOMISTS SHOULD ALSO GIVE US AN ASSESSMENT OF THE CANADIAN AND THE WORLD SITUATION.

Oh, yeah.. the old "no plan but we'll come up with one after the election" plan.
Is that the great advice that Martin taught Dion? Didn't Martin also make a number of desperate promises to try and stay in power?

The whole Liberal green shift plan was the centeral pivot that their economic plan centered about and that was cast off when everyone saw through it. The Kyoto plan was a plan and, even with a majority, they did nothing about it.

Now the Liberals are using the hysteria over the US economy in another desperate gambit. It's another example of their classic ploy: make up a boogyman that only they can save Canada from.

Could some of you Liberal supporters can scan that napkin plan and post it here?

a plan to make a plan is still a plan....a plan is a plan is plan it's in the plan

So blind. People will vote for this guy. Just... so unrealistic. Rediculous really. I can't believe people would vote for this.

There is an old maxim "Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public"

Apply that any way you wish.

A plan to plan. It's like the thrashing of a dieing political monster. A plan to plan.

I thought that was a link showing Canadians like the carbon tax. So where do you get the Idea that Canadians like carbon taxes?

No link, just those voices that only he can hear, tell him this.

Er, about the plan...

Other world leaders have been having meetings. They've met with each other, they've met with a variety of experts, and they've met with stakeholder groups.

Harper, if he's met with anybody, has kept it quiet. He hasn't had a First Minister's meeting in the 2 1/2 years he's been in office.

Eighty top economists have said that an active response to the crisis is needed. Harper has ignored them, instead preferring to tell stories about Noah. Well, I've heard that story...everybody but Noah drowned. So I'm sure Steve and his family will be okay, but what about the rest of us?

A plan to have a plan isn't a plan.. it's dithering.

While Jack may be happy to nationalize everything and drive business out of Canada, the Harper government realizes that the Canadian market is unique and best able to ride out this problem. The US got into the credit crunch because Democrats screwed with the market so why do you think that screwing with the markets will solve this?

Yup. Harper cries that Dion is "panicking" just a few days before the TSX took a nosedive and he flip-flopped on the economy and his promise of non-deficit spending and his cronies on the forum decry Dions plan of action which is to meet with the experts to decide on a proper course of action. They would rather the govt did nothing or else devise a half-cocked scheme that won't work.

Even if Dion ends up doing nothing we have lost nothing but if he acts rashly he may make things much worse. 30 days is a reasonable time frame for him to meet with experts and combat the problem head on.

Reverend Blair @ Wed Oct 08, 2008 6:13 am

Can you tell me where in the NDP platform it mentions nationalizing anything, Riden?

Can you show me exactly how the Canadian market is so unique? Can you tell me what Harper's plan is or at least explain why he's keeping it secret? Hint...business as usual, nonsensical rhetoric about a steady hand on the tiller, and stories about a mythical figure who saved himself and his family while letting everybody else drown are not a plan.

Hes to busy perpetuating the lie that Jacks gonna turn Canada into an official tri-lingual nation based on his irrefutable evidence taken right from the Hong Kong Herald.

I mean, thats where I get all my political info. Don't you?

Dion's 30 day plan to plan was a panicked attempt at making it look like he was doing something when in reality, he had no clue.
As Harper joked, Dion thought the credit crunch was a candy bar.

Considering the green shift, the central finance and environmental package for the Liberal platform, was shelved because Canadians saw through paying for another tax, it's little wonder they don't believe this either.
