There's no "inebriated" or "all hammed up" medal.

Should have a "posts when hammed" medal. You got my nomination. :lol:

First of all, I didn't realize anyone was argueing, I just decided to say what the term "traditional values" means to me.

And your perception is wrong. Perhaps if you engaged in the diversity the left-wingers worship so much you'd go out of your way to meet some of these traditional values folks and see that they are not troglodytes.

They just don't want to see their kids having to face a world where sixty-year old men can legally bugger fourteen-year old boys...as in the Netherlands.

Gareth Kirkby / Xtra.ca / Thursday, January 19, 2006

............. At that same policy convention, delegates endorsed a radical set of rightwing policies, including:

* Reaffirming use of the Constitution's notwithstanding clause to overturn court decisions they disagree with;

Allowing appointed judges to make the laws for all Canadians is something I would want to overturn as well.
$1:
* Raising the age of sexual consent to 16 from 14;

Protecting our children from manipulative adults is not a good thing??
$1:
* Eliminating all defences against child porn, something that would radically curtail freedom of speech and art and probably ultimately require the use of the notwithstanding clause;

This one almost made me vomit! CHILD PORN IS NOT ART!!
$1:
* Politicizing the appointment of Supreme Court Of Canada judicial appointments;

Again, I say that without someone checking some of these loons, they will run wild with power.
$1:
* Increasing private sector health care;

While the CPC has not flat out said private health care, I personally believe it could open up new spaces in the public system, attract more doctors to Canada and bring in new technologies faster. Private education didn't kill public education, now did it.
$1:
* Opposing universal child-care

Allowing parents the freedom to decide what's best for their children, NOT the government.
$1:
, transferring fiscal spending power to the provinces, curtailing the role of the federal government in social policy;

Allowing provincial governments a say in their business is only fair.
$1:
* "Three strikes and you're out" criminal sentencing;

Better than 27 strikes and you're released to go rape, steal, (insert other crime here), again as it is now. Victim's rights, not criminal's rights.
$1:
* Negotiating with the US for a missile-defence agreement;

Coming to the table with our closest ally is at the very least the respectful thing to do. Blowing him off like PMPM did is just rude and ignorant.
$1:
* Taking Canada out of the Kyoto accord on global warning;

Which we never should have signed in the first place.
$1:
* A massive increase in defence spending;

Would this be the "Soldiers in our cities" debate again. Should we not support our military and provide them with the best there is?
$1:
* Adding property rights to the Constitution, a move that would forever undermine the ability of government to protect the environment and make social policy.

Preventing the government from strong arming private citizens into the "sale" or transfer of their private land; sounds good to me.

Yeah giggling would be a understatement.

Progress doesn't occur when your values are not different from those in 1805.

So we all can expect you to be progressing from October 1917 sometime soon?

"Alberta can blow me" - Scott Reid, Liberal communications director

wow Scott Reid speaks for the 20m Canadians East of Manitoba now :roll: as I've said before the dislike for Alberta from the East is non-existent compared to the utter hatred that spews from many Albertans towards us. Just read the letters page of the Calgary Sun if you don't believe me. I can understand why it suits the Alberta separatist agenda for us to hate you as much as you hate us but sadly for you we don't.

The letters are a direct reflection of the total frustration we feel here.

Yeah and a lot of that frustation, at least recently, is justified but you've pretty much admitted that its Albertans who hate Easterners not the other way around.

For someone who has very often and very proudly displayed your extremely insulting properity check you have little reason to be upset with any negativity flying at Alberta. Considering the amount of posters here who throw mindless hate at us and the existence of nothing-less-then-bigotry sutes like western standard (any anti-Alberta/west comparable site) there is considerably greater anti-ON/eastern canada hatred then the reverse.
