Harper's achilles heel
A lot of potential Tory voting soft liberals are put off Harper by his perceived pro-US stance, he failed in the last election to address the issue and hasn't done anything since. I really don't understand why the Tories can't see that this is a vote loser for them.
I thought it was his lack of charisma
And his intolerance
what intolerance? Of corruption in the government?
Please.....you think corruption is unique to a particular party? Corruption is the result of individuals....not party politics.
Intolerance of anything Liberal.
It's part and parcel of any party that has been in power too long. They become arrogant and abuse the trust of the electorate

well that as well, its obvious he doesn't just dislike the Liberals for their policies, corruption etc he actually hates them almost on a visceral level, you see it a lot on canadaka.net from ridenrain, hwacker, MCB and other Tories. It might go down well at Riding Association meetings but doe him no favours in the eyes of teh general public.
My problem is that while his economic platform appeals to me it's the very 'Alliance' approach to social issues that makes him impossible for me to vote for.
Well that leaves the Martin Liberals. Fiscal conservatives with a liberal approach to social issues. If they win, I hope it's a majority so he doesn't have to kowtow to the nutbar comrades in the NDP. On that note it's time to make some popcorn and watch The Shield Season 4

Agreed. Its why they lost the last election and will lose this election. They just can't understand it so they spend all their time trying to show "how bad the Liberals are" instead of "how good the CPC is". A campaign built on nothing but anti-liberal hatred will simply not work and harper & the CPC simply will not run any other campaign and when the votes don't go their way they will blame everybody but themselves.
Glenn Close as the new captain is season 4.
