Here is my suggestion: if you know well how to design a website and give it a name indict Harper, invite public to sign a petition if they agree that Harper should be indicted for squandering 300 million tax payer dollars and also breeching of his own law, which established specific dates for the election. He also should be ordered to pay 300 million back and this should be done by garnishing 25% of his salary until he dies.

Canadian Stocks Rally the Most Since 1976 on Bank Rescue Plans

By John Kipphoff

Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Canadian stocks surged, sending the main index to the biggest gain in 32 years, on speculation that U.S. plans to invest $250 billion in banks may help stem the financial crisis and bolster economic growth.

Royal Bank of Canada and Manulife Financial Corp. and EnCana Corp. led the rally, each jumping at least 15 percent. The U.S. announcement came after European countries committed $1.8 trillion to guarantee bank loans and take stakes in lenders.

``With all the action being taken by governments, the worst news is probably over,'' said Luc Girard, who helps oversee about $14.1 billion as director of Desjardins Securities' portfolio advisory group in Montreal. ``We have a very positive base for the next few years.''

The Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index jumped 890.50, or 9.8 percent, to 9,955.66 in Toronto, for its steepest advance since December 1976. Nine stocks gained for every one that fell. Canada's stock benchmark, which derives three-quarters of its value from financial, energy and mining stocks, earlier rose as much as 18 percent, the biggest intraday rally in 75 years.

I'm sure if the Liberals won you wouldn't be having this thought in your wee head.

or if the Liberals had voted in the house and it was Nov 15 instead of Oct 15 you also wouldn't give a damn.

HAHA. Better get the courts on the phone. Maybe they can line you right up behind Dion and the Liberals so the CPC lawyers won't miss their golf games.

Fixed election dates never applied to minority governments, only majorities.
Get a clue.

From the Canada Elections Act:

56.1 (1) Nothing in this section affects the powers of the Governor General, including the power to dissolve Parliament at the Governor General’s discretion.

Election dates

(2) Subject to subsection (1), each general election must be held on the third Monday of October in the fourth calendar year following polling day for the last general election, with the first general election after this section comes into force being held on Monday, October 19, 2009.

Where does it say anything whether it is majority or minority Government?

Democracy Watch filed a complaint to have the election called off. The judge threw it out....that was 2 weeks ago.

I dont like Harper and I think he has broken a tone of promises and is a huge hypocrite. But I don't think there is any reason to indict him and i wouldn't support that.

good grief!

the man runs a minority government longer than any other minority government in the history of Canada, and you want him indicted for calling an election "too soon"?

don't you think you might be trying a wee bit too hard to find something to criticize Harper for?

This proves only one point, that the judge is corrupt to the core and the Government should not be allowed to appoint judges. Even in Soviet Union, judges were elected, not appointed. In addition, in the Soviet Union, judge was always sitting with 2 representatives of people, who theoretically could overrule the judge. Theoretically, the system there was quite good, except it didn't work the way it should have.
