So, Canada....it is great to be diverse. We are the greatest nation in the world because of our diversity. Unfortuantely, our voter confidence is so low that we will have a Prime Minister that will be voted in, thanks to our wonderful Christian Canadians with their massive representation in the west. How is it that our West is so much like the American's south? Remember what happened when their voters turned out in numbers? The world is still plagued by the result of that fiasco. Mind you, Harper can string enough words together to create a coherent sentence, and fortunately he isn't the war-monger from the south.
Hopefully he can be a strong enough leader to reinstill the importance of government on our youth. We as adults need to show our youth that responsible government is both possible and critical. the only way to get the BEST PEOPLE to lead us, is if the BEST PEOPLE care. So many wonderful Canadians have never thought of growing up to be Prime Minister, or a Member of Parliament. I personally have never heard a child say, "I want to be the Prime Minister of Canada when I grow up." I have heard many times, "I want to be the President of the United States" Why is that such a revered position? Why do we not care about our own politicians? Or our own process and how it affects us? We have no one to blame but ourselves. Any ideas???????????

Who are you to compare the West to America's South? Do I detect a bitter Easterner here? Well lets see. The majority of votes in Canada are....guess what, the East. So you guys get what you vote for. The rest of your rant seems like you're pissed off about the United States or something.

P.S - There are more Christians in the East than the West so at least get your facts about diversity right if you're going to rant about that.

Right on, another hateful, Christianophobic bigot on the forums.

Funny how "diversity" is only a good thing when groups you agree with achieve power.

Is your problem with all religion or just Christianity? Somehow, I'm willing to bet you didn't get quite so incensed when Carolyn Parish announced following the 2004 election that the Liberal Party of Canada "owed our success to the votes of Muslim Canadians in places like Mississauga-Erindale."

Why does that not upset you?

Are you equally bothered by the fact that new Canadians have a tendency to vote along ethnic lines and those votes usually support the Liberal Party of Canada?

In a healthy democracy, the pendulum swings back and forth. Don't whine just because it's swinging away from you now.

I refuse to vote because you didn't include astronaut!

I personally think that the youth vote is being lost due to the fact that politics in Canada are pretty boring. I've barely even been able to land 10 posts in this forum since the election was called, b/c politics are a f'n dry topic.

A lot of my friends don't have a clue whats going on in this country politically, I fortunatly know where I stand, but do to the fact that I don't know enough about whats going on I can't even join in on a conversation about politics.

I tend to stay away souly for the reason that as I young voter, most of what I say doesn't stand up to what the experienced voter has already mentioned or knows in his/her mind. If I were to stated my opinion and its wrong to others then a group of "all knowing ego strokers" flush out my comment like a tooth pick in a stream of logs.

If people are wondering why the voter turn out is so low, then why not stop "fighting" for your party and explain in a manner that we can understand without feeling threatened or scared to make the wrong vote.

Is it not open season on Liberal trolls ?

Why do these almost alsways turn into insulting each other, why must all comments have a negative spin on it at the end on the person whom made the previous post?

Encourage, good, happy.

Only a total schmuck wouldn't understand the logic of character assassination and name smearing when it is impossible to cogitate a valid response to a legitimate argument!

PDT_Armataz_01_28

Seriously, it is the individual who first resorts to invective who cedes the high ground of the argument.

F'rinstance...

Bob Bob:
I don't support your candidate because of his history of hiring five-year old prostitutes.

Ted Ted:
No, you don't support him because you're a godless, right-wing, communist, atheist, Bible-thumping Christian Nazi!

Yep. When you can't win an argument, attack the person who did win.
