GunPlumber...
The quote was actually
"Any 20 year-old who isn't a liberal doesn't have a heart, and any 40 year-old who isn't a conservative doesn't have a brain."
vote ndp!!!
then the country will be broke, just like all the provinces they contolled!
There are reasons not to vote for every party. Nobody's perfect. I certainly won't vote Liberal, the corruption is too close to the surface. I won't vote Conservative, the Moral Majority looms too close with its theocratic ways. The people who do vote Conservative are mostly just too dense to realise that this isn't the old Progressive Conservative party, but rather a bunch of nuts trying to hide undr a banner that looks something the same and is in fact drastically different. I won't vote Green as I would consider that tossing a vote somewhere it won't do any good at all. Guess who I'm voting, actually working for?
The NDP isn't perfect; as I said, nobody is. They will make a better opposition than either of the big parties, and time has shown that we do get great social reforms when they are the opposition. The party, having run federally only a short time ago has a better organisation in place than it has had in years. This is the time. NDP for me!
Sure NDP, like I want more things being run by the feds! You have to ask yourself do the NDP federally stand for bigger government? If so ask yourself another question, do I want more things run like Canada Post?
I'm curious. What is the NDP's position on military and security? I don't know much about the NDP but I always percieved the party as being a, if you NDPers would pardon my expression, meek and weak type government yet honest to the people and actually care about the people.
Defence policys.
This is priceless: I follow the link on page 6, to the NDP website and I get "Page not found"
HAHAHAHA!
Give it up, Jack.
I remember not too long ago that the NDP under Audrey....(can't remember her name, really not that important) wanted to withdraw Canadian Forces from NATO bases in Europe, withdraw support from NATO in general and basically slavishly follow the UN whenever they called.
Sorry Jack, can't see myself as a member of the military ever voting for a party who will do whatever they can to destroy my job. Even as anti-military as the Liberals are, they are a beacon compared to the blatant hostility from the average NDP member.
Look at the deficit here and here. Notice how the debt spikes in 1988 and it is ONLY in 1993 that it begins to turns around. That is the mess the last cons left. There is a 'sense of entitlement' being argued in this election. Who brought in the GST without consulting the people? Now Harper is talking about[edit:cutting it to 5% in 5]. Sorry, no credit there for axing a Tory idea in the 1st place and now that it is here to axe GST will now hurt Canada more than do it good. The NDP are arguing for opening markets for our auto industry while the Tories are looking to sign on with out argument like last time and we have seen the mess that made. I must say Rain the more you argue the better the NDP look.
Only someone who worked for the Government couls say something like that.
2Cdo: I remember that too. I don't remember if it was just anti-US or if it was some warm & fuzzy markxist solidarity, but it sure was dumb.
Do any of you know if the NDP have a plan? You guys do have one, right?
I was under the impression SH was cutting the GST to 5%. Not cutting it altogether.
If I were a month older I would be able to vote. I would most likely spoil my ballot considering the candidates in my riding.
He's talking about cutting it to 5% and phasing it in over 5 years.
