If this election gets overturned and we head back to the polls, I will never, ever vote again and will never participate in a campaign.

It's shameful on so many fronts.

Well now I'm sold. Election now!

And IF it happens and the IF the Conservatives win again, will you quit the whining or will you try to invent something else to explain the continuing demise of the Liberal party?

No, he won't. Not ever. Democracy is not democracy unless it works for him.

If the Liberals (hypothetically) committed electoral fraud in the 1993/1997/2000 elections he would be the first apologist in line to rationalize it.

Hell no I won't. I'll fight against the chicken little party until my dying breath.

No problem. Each and every time they show their disdain for democracy in our country, it strengthens my resolve.

The demise of the Liberal Party? You say this as a supporter of the resurrected 2-seat neocons?

BeaverFever @ Wed Feb 29, 2012 5:52 pm

To be fair, the "neocons" come from the 66-seat Reform Party/Canadian Alliance.

The 2-seat party to which you refer is the now-defunct Progressive Conservative Party, whom the Canadian Alliance swallowed and took its current name from (conveniently dropping all reference to the word "Progressive").

No, the reference you're talking about is CRAP. The Conservative Reform Alliance Party. Neocon is a generic term for right wing pro-corporate extremists used worldwide. Andy's 'Reformacon' is a merger of the two. I prefer Harperite most times to describe the followers of Harper, and Neocon in the general sense.

Conversely, the Liberals are also known as the "Libranos" since the party operated pretty much like the mafia during the Chretien years.

Yes. The old PC party was punished by the electorate and had to suffer in the wastelands until a merger between the 2 right of centre parties. The Liberals have no leader right now and honestly can't seem to find someone who can lead them back to power anytime soon.

Umm, I think you need to work on getting that one out there a little more.

But that was okay with Curtman. It's only disdain to democracy when the right wing does it.

Well the sponsorship scandal, which is what I think you are referring to was a drop in the bucket compared to the huge amounts of dollars that went missing during the G20 alone. I'll definitely take the lesser evil, and the one that allowed itself to be investigated who dealt with the perpetrators of fraud effectively.

Think back to Alfonso Gagliano. Former Liberal MP. Not only was he found directly responsible for wrong doing during the ADSCAM investigation, he was also reported to have mafia links (on more than one occasion).

Unfortunately, never proven in court.

Allowed itself to be investigated? Chretein sat on that until Martin was in power and then proceeded to act the fool during his "questioning".

But the "Bully from Shawinigan" is a great man in your eyes.
