Enough is enough WG implodes

Wargaming is imploding
WG really shit the bed and has caused an exodus of their own player base. This takes rakestepping to a whole new level. Can't wait to see Mingles with Jingles on Monday.

Yeah it should be a real humdinger. It's sad what WG is doing. You need CC's to keep a game like WoWs going and to shit all over them just smacks of hubris. But they'll probably get away with it as long as people keep playing the game and spending money on it.

Oh boy and just when I thought being called a monkey was bad. WOW. Guess funny man isn't so fucking funny. @WorldofWarships so these are the CCs you have left

WG Gambling to children needs to stop. Lootboxes are money laundering and should be regulated as if it is gambling.
The CC program was needed by WG when they started off but now that they have the numbers of new players who they can now farm for money that can ignore the people who were there from the start.
Also, the suggestions being put forward by the CC program required effort, time and money by WG who were only interested in pumping up the numbers to their shareholders.
That said the Pegi rating of the game clearly states
$1:
7+ for Ages 7 and Older: May contain mild or unrealistic violence (e.g. violence in a cartoon context), or elements that can be frightening to younger children.
.
Lootboxes that you can pay hundreds of dollars for is still gambling and a lot of people that play lootboxes have gambling issues, it's why they are called whales. This is preying on people who can not and should not have this sort of judgement put upon them, especially when they think it is just a game.
The treatment of Mouse, and the Yukon fiasco really pisses me off. I still play Warships, and have given these guys money. Probably more money than is responsible. But these guys are/have/will only show contempt for their base, so maybe I'll close the wallet for a while.
All eyes are on WG to see what response they give will be.
I never played the desktop version, only the mobile one, and it's pretty fun. Instead of 'lootboxes' they use crates, which is still gambling with really shitty odds, so I've never paid for one.
I also refuse to pay a fortune for a ship, so the only premiums I own are the ones you can win by grinding in challenges and contests. I would pay for a ship if it cost $10 or $20, but no digital ship is worth $69.99 (or more) in my books.

I've played Wg titles since 2011 and was in the World of Tanks Beta. They even gave me a t-shirt for getting my 1st tier 10. When warships came out I pretty much stopped playing tanks overnight. I'm in a clan but rarely play clan battles as my work is evenings and that where the majority of the battles are planned. Randoms and Co-op is my happy place as I can watch YouTube on one monitor and play on the other.
Over the decade I am sure I have sunk a tidy sum into this game but it was always fun. Now that spigot is turned off. The way they treated LWM is just the straw that broke the back. WG over the last 3 years has morphed into a horrid company. The game is still fun with all the warts *coff* CV's *coff* and on mobile and console the game is arguably better as it is more in the spirt of what the game was and not what it has become. However, profiles are not transferable cross platform so I'm stuck on PC. The good thing is I am set with this account and will never need to pay a cent again for it. Though I am sure WG will find a way to nerf that for cash too.

LWM's treatment was horrid. She is/was a beloved member of the community, I'd consult her reviews of Premium ships before I'd buy them.
As a pretty serious WOWS player (3.7k Co-Op matches...) I am pretty disgusted on her treatment.
I'm sure WG's response will be "Oh, it was a miscommunication, we'll try better next time".
Love the game, but Fuck Wargaming.

Gaming monetization has been a topic of intense conversation ever since box copies of software diminished in favor of persistent online experiences. Subscription services entered the scene but presented the problem of a monthly commitment to the unknown. Then we got swarmed with free-to-play titles and the introduction of cash shops and designs intended to push players in that direction. In the current iteration of gaming monetization, random lockboxes aka lootboxes, no longer exclusive to the mobile market, have become a lightning rod for intense feelings and lawsuits alike.
As a free-to-play naval arcade, World of Warships has continually sought to maximize profit, even at the expense of the well-being of its own players, and studio Wargaming has now begun to push away some of its most ardent defenders and contributors with its aggressive gambling mechanics.

Same with me. I've been playing WoWs since the open beta and have spent a fair amount of money on the game over the years. No more. They did LittleWhiteMouse dirty when she is the kind of user developers like that can only hope for and then to jerk her around like that is just sad..and baffling.
Honestly though, what WG is doing is no different than what EA, Activision, et al have been doing for years. And that is monetizing every aspect of a game to maximize revenue. Wg is making business decisions, not gamer friendly decisions.
So while the shitstorm will make a mess, the game will go on because WG will still make money and people will still play the game in spite of their terrible management.
