$1:
enjoy the side stuff...getting 6 stars and fighting off the cops, fbi and the millitary can get VERY intense.

Want more fun? Try flying the stunt plane over Area 51 and see how long you can dodge SAM's for.

Synt4x your absolutly right, GTA3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas are in a word complete garbage. That's why there so fun. It allows a person to just let loose. Now if you want to attack any game, then you should go after Rockstar's "Manhunt". Though I enjoyed that game, it contained VERY disturbing content ie. You play a convicted killer who get's to be filmed hunting down and murdering other killer's in an assorted varity of brutal and gruesom ways, all the while this is being filmed (ie. your making snuff films against your will). To make matters worse, whereas the GTA series always contained quit a bit of tongue in cheek humor, Manhunt offers no such relief.

I think that the Grand Theft Auto franchise may be one of the best gaming franchises ever created. It just gives you hours of endless fun. I really can't wait to see what the guys at Rockstar Games come up with for the next one. With hardware like the PS3...wow...it definitely won't dissapoint, that's for sure.

The whole thing that's been going on in the US with GTA: San Andreas is ridiculous. A mod, that is nearly impossible to unlock on the PS2 version and takes a bit of effort to get on the PC version, has gotten the game an AO rating months after the release. I mean...ugh, I dunno it's just stupid. The game's been out for almost a year and some idiotic american politician has to make a big deal out of a stupid mod that involves some polygons having sex. It's a bunch of pixels for f*cks sake!

Manhunt getting banned or slapped with an AO rating I can understand, because that game (although also very entertaining) was insanely violent. But not GTA: San Andreas and especially not because of a mod that someone other than the developers made. But there's no point in bitching about it...we just have to face that America is full of moronic politicians and soccer moms that'll try to censor everything.

^^^^^^
Wow two different views. But PoleM. im with you dude. ABsolutly wrong.

Crizzle @ Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:30 pm

Meh, I find the game loads of fun and I've been playing GTA since the original back in '97 or '98. I'm also strongly against censorship so when I see GTA: San Andreas being banned or rated Adults Only...naturally I'll be pissed. :P

Yeah. Manhunt was kinda weird. I played it and I say to myself "Crap. This is basically a serial killer simulation" but it got addicting, I had to finish it. Kinda like how people slow down when they see the cops taking care of a car crash I guess. Morbid cureosity. As a side note the clerk who sold me "Manhunt" told me that the day after the stink was made in the papers and such about the content of the game and how it would be restricted, he had sold virtually all the copy's the store had. Wonder if the same thing happened with San Andreas?

Crizzle @ Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:47 pm

With Manhunt it's the same thing that attracts people to GTA. You can do things that people would never dare or be capable of doing in real life. In Manhunt you can hack someones head off with a machete. Besides the fact that it's gruesome and pretty damn twisted, it's fricken' awesome! It just feels nice to do it lol. That's why I think games like GTA and Manhunt don't cause violent behavior, they releive it. Unless of course you're already a psycho who's thought about murdering people in cold blood and these games somehow happen to push you over the edge.

polemarch1 @ Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:53 pm

You don't need video games like GTA, Manhunt, or Rockstar's other piece of contoversy State of Emergency, to cause violent anti-social behavior. Right Ed Gein, Charles Manson, Jeffery Dahmer and all the other fricken crazy's :?

I think the 3D GTA-Series are the best computergames ever (but Mafia too) I bought everyone of them... in Germany GTA III only adults are allowed to buy (18 years old), but when you have a tolerant mum there's no problem of getting it *lol*, and GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas are rated for 16 years old peoples, and btw the german versions are all censored so that they don't get forbidden by the BPjM (Bundesprüfstelle für jugedendgefährdende Medien, it's like the commission that rates games, movies, etc. in america), that means there is no blood, you can't shoot parts off the body, you can't rob pedestrians and you can't beat them when they're lying on the ground.

At first I had problems with that in Vice City, because in the beginning you just have few money, in GTA:SA it's the same, but on the internet there are some so called bloodpatches, in Vice City it worked fine, but in San Andreas not, I can't rob pedestrians or shoot parts off their bodies, just blood, but that's enough I think, and Synt4x... you are not forced to kill innocent pedestrians in GTA, it's like in Postal 1 and 2, you don't have to, but you can...

So far from me...

phiscott @ Fri Aug 05, 2005 6:32 pm

Thier games, they're meant to be fun. Sure they're full of blood, guts, sluts and gore. but that's what makes it so fun, that's why it's called a game.

Synt4x @ Fri Aug 05, 2005 9:23 pm

I still think that the game is very immoral

Schleihauf @ Sun Aug 28, 2005 10:55 am

Who cares if the game is immoral as long as it entertains me. I dont see it as a drug sex and killing game I see it more as a fun screw around game.

harzer_knaller @ Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:06 am

That's true, if you think like Synt4x you could blame every game for a reason, e.g. Windows-Solitair, you can play Las Vegas style and loose money... is that politically correct?

camerontech @ Fri Sep 16, 2005 12:05 pm

Anyone know when this game will be re-released? It's been pulled from the shelves to change it from M to AO for a while.
