Omnibus COVID-19 virus discussion thread

I've noticed an increase, especially in the past week or so, in people wearing masks in retail/public settings. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, more people in the grocery store, some just walknig around. I think its a good strategy.

Got my booster shot a couple weeks ago. Holy shit, that hurt for 2 days! Good thing too, because that means it's working.

My partner and I got our boosters last Monday. As with my past shots (last October being the previous one) my arm started feeling heavy about 4 hours after the shot and was sore, as though with muscle strain, for the next day then fine. We were both tired that day and crashed early.

I've gotten so used to not wearing a mask and am uncertain about going back to wearing one. Will see how things roll as right now it doesn't seem too bad.

The provincial government stopped publishing Covid infection rates, so it's impossible to make rational decisions whether to wear a mask anymore.

I might just do it when it gets colder because it keeps my face warm.

I work from home, so it's not like my cat is going to infect me with anything.

I just recovered from a bout. Took two weeks to beat it. Thankfully I beat it in time for Thanksgiving. My girlfriends dad is getting up there in years, and not in the best of health. Last thing I would ever wan to do is get him sick with anything. This bout was worse then the last time that I had it because I have not had a booster in a while. One day of shivering and sweating, two weeks of coughing, and one day with no taste whatsoever. That sucked because I had just bought an order of southern fried chicken. Couldn't taste it at all. I may as well have been eating a wet napkin. I was surprised because it happened late in the cycle. I thought I was almost over it when that happened. I have not heard or seen the word Covid in forever now.

I think that the pressure is on to avoid the subject completely. My hotel issued orders to remove all public area sanitizer dispensers (except restaurants and bathrooms ). The word Covid has been scrubbed from all hotel literature, websites, media, etc., etc. Its like it never existed. Politicians are not talking about it either. Our last Governor lost his job over the shutdown. Any politician even mentioning the word shutdown is committing political suicide.

That sucks that trying to do their job of protecting the public ends up costing them the same job. People are too divided.
