Out of all the milk replacements out there, I think it's the worst tasting. Another reason to lay off it is that we already consume a lot of soy in other products.
Almond and oat milk tastes better, although not as good as real milk. I see they have coconut milk as a milk replacement now too.
I have an almond flour that I use as a replacement for wheat flour. The crepes are amazing. I also mix it in coffee for an added flavour and 'sweetness'.

Being Lactose Intolerant, Soy Milk is awesome IMO. Have only tried the flavoured kinds and it tastes close enough to Cows Milk to me.
Yeah, in that "frog's legs taste just like chicken" kind'a way

I've had soy milk (I've reduced my milk products intake), it tastes nothing like milk but I've never had the flavoured kind. Frog legs, on the other hand, really does taste like chicken... unless you smother it with garlic butter... and it has to be fresh, not frozen.
I've had frog's legs and yer a lyin' sack
I've had them too, and when they are battered and deep fried they do taste like deep fried chicken...still felt slightly nauseated after I ate them. We were out with friends and they bought supper. I thought it was surf and turf, but it ended up being surf, turf and swamp.
Except for the pork and dairy bullshit, I think the Jews and Arabs(they don't have the dairy hang up) have it right when it comes to food.

But did you catch those frogs yourself?

Most delicious frog I caught was a little hottie from Ste. Rose du lac.

Long black hair, eyes like sapphires....and a good Catholic girl who believed anything and everything was forgiven after going to confession. Grade 12 was a great year.....saw her seven years ago. She had turned into her mom and had five kids.
It's not just schools, its been years since i've seen a workplace that didn't have some kind of nut-free policy in place. It's definitely a new phenomenon and it's I'm sure its something that we've done to ourselves.
Mr. Canada's got it right on this one.

Allergies exist and sickness abounds because we use Purell religiously and our immune systems are total shit. Kids are like wet tissue paper now. Maybe one day kids will be taking whole catalogs of injections to deal with their susceptibility to simple illness.
Take your kid outside and let him eat some bugs.
I also do point the finger at our massive array of processed and genetically modified foods. Not good stuff. Hell, drinking out of plastic bottles is even suspected of messing things up for kids. We trust what's on the shelves way too easily.
I'm not allergic to anything as far as I know. I sneeze in farm-like areas, perhaps something to do with pollen, and had hives once after eating 30 things of home-made deer sausage. Other then that, nothing. And I find I'm one of the few in my generation who can say that. Which is good, because I freaking love milk, soy milk is the most disgusting sewer waste I've ever had accidentally touch my lips.
That said, what this 7 year old kid did was probably malicious. Kids are like that. I remember that crap. I remember kids being teased for their allergies when I was that young. I remember a child being excluded from class for a few days because he brought nuts to school to purposefully screw with a kid and scare him. They don't understand it and want to tempt fate. And some kids are total assholes, they really exist at any given age for some reason. Like he's found kryptonite for somebody, he wants to see how easy it is to destroy another person by abusing his weakness.
Should the kid/family be charged? No. He's a kid. Tell him to smarten up and stop bullying his peers, that he is liable to hurt somebody if he thinks this is an effective way to control the kid with allergies. Problem is, it's very possible he knows that already. Some kids are evil.
Good post.
